What happens when you combine cutting-edge AI with the creativity and drive of Grabbers? You get GrabGPT—a platform built to amplify potential and redefine productivity.
GrabGPT is a versatile tool that helps Grabbers with tasks like research, text generation, image creation, and data analysis. Powered by leading Generative AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude, Meta’s Llama, Google’s Gemini and many more Grab adopts an open stance and seeks to onboard the latest and best models as soon as they are available. This allows Grabbers to experiment with different models, boosting their AI fluency.
It’s one of Grab’s most-used internal tools, with ~6.4k Monthly Active User in May 2025, and a Daily Active User base of around 2.5k on average for the past 3 months!
GrabGPT’s multi-model approach makes it powerful, and this has resulted in thousands of Grabbers using it daily as part of their workflows. For example, to summarise reports and uncover trends in large datasets, to break down complex tasks into manageable to-do lists; or as a brainstorming tool.
GrabGPT’s security is equally important. Running on Grab-owned infrastructure ensures sensitive company data stays protected. We can audit the platform to prevent misuse, allowing Grabbers to harness Generative AI without compromising privacy or company processes.
Additionally, GrabGPT is available to Grabbers everywhere, regardless of where they’re based.
Grab embraced AI tools early, encouraging Grabbers to find ways to integrate them into their workflows. GrabGPT emerged from this ethos—not as a top-down directive, but as a happy accident.
In March 2023, the machine learning platform team began exploring Large Language Models (LLMs) to reduce the burden of manually answering user requests through an LLM-powered support bot. While the initial goal wasn’t achieved immediately, our team discovered broader possibilities. We channeled the momentum to create GrabGPT, a multi-purpose Generative AI interface for the entire company.

GrabGPT sparked a broader conversation about the potential of LLMs at Grab. It’s a testament to how a small group of engineers, equipped with the right tools, can create something transformative.
We’ll continue expanding GrabGPT’s capabilities to ensure it stays useful across departments. Meanwhile, the machine learning team is making progress on the original support bot project, which is now on track for success.
Today, GrabGPT is more than a tool—it’s a symbol of experimentation and adaptability at Grab.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.
Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
