The world is changing. From the way we shop, to the way we pay our bills and get our meals. In the past year alone, we’ve seen more Grab users opting for safer and more convenient cashless payments. The way you spend has shifted, so must the way we reward you. That’s why GrabPay Wallet, Card or PayLater users will be able to get more points, while still enjoying the same tier benefits.

The earn periods are broken into 2 parts: [ 1 Jan–30 June ] and [ 1 July–31 Dec ].
The total points earned* before the end of each period [ 30 June or 31 Dec ] will determine your tier for that period and the 6 months after.

I.e. If you reach 4,500 points on 30 Jun 2022, you’ll become a Platinum member until 31 Dec 2022.
If you have 3,000 points on 30 Jun 2022, you’ll be a Gold member until 31 Dec 2022.

What does it mean to you?

It simply means that you’re getting more points back for every GrabPay Wallet, PayLater or GrabPay Card transaction. Yay!

From 22 March 2021, you’ll earn less points for every debit/credit card transaction you make on the Grab app. But you can earn more points, in more places, simply by topping up and spending with your GrabPay Wallet instead.

Your points won’t expire!

As long as you complete one (1) cashless Grab transaction* a month, the validity of all your points extends by 6 months.

I.e. If you make a transaction on 10 Jan, your points expiry date is 31 July — six months
from the month of your last transaction.

If you perform another transaction a month later on 28 Feb, your points expiry period is
shifted by one month to 31 Aug.

You can earn GrabRewards points by making Grab-related transactions, such as taking a Grab ride, or making a GrabFood order. Use these points you have earned, and spend in your GrabRewards catalogue. To find the catalogue, tap on the Rewards icon on your Grab home screen.
Yes! You are eligible to earn GrabRewards points when you use Grab services across Southeast Asia (excluding Indonesia which uses OVO points), including Grab rides, GrabFood, GrabExpress, and more. Do note that the amount of GrabRewards points you earn outside your home country will depend on the earn rate of the country you are visiting.
As of 1 July 2019, GrabRewards is introducing Activity Based Points Expiry (ABPE), a new program to help extend the life of your GrabRewards points. As long as you make 1 Grab transaction within the next 6 months of your last transaction, your points will continue to accumulate.
Great news! You automatically qualify as a member after your first qualifying Grab transaction. There are 4 member tiers (Member, Silver, Gold and Platinum), which you can unlock once you have accumulated the number of points needed for each tier. Depending on your tier status, you will be entitled to a host of exclusive benefits. Your benefits may include discounts, priority services and partner exclusives. Refer to ‘My Membership Details’ in the GrabRewards catalogue on your Grab app or on the GrabRewards website for more details.
As long as you accumulate the number of points needed to meet your GrabRewards tier within the first 6-month period – between 1 January and 30 June; or between 1 July and 31 December – you will continue to maintain your tier status for the next 6-month period.
If you get downgraded from your current member tier, you’ll no longer have access to all the previous benefits, associated with your higher GrabRewards member tier. Of course, the easiest way to prevent this from happening is to use Grab more and accumulate enough GrabRewards points to maintain your member tier. Learn how to earn more GrabRewards points here.
Exclusive Grab vouchers will be sent to you from time to time, please check the My Rewards page in your Grab app to avoid missing out on these vouchers.
Unfortunately, your GrabRewards membership and Booking.com Genius membership are non-transferrable. Your Booking.com Genius membership is a benefit linked to your GrabRewards member tier.
Only Grab transactions paid via GrabPay (credit/debit cards & GrabPay Wallet) will extend the validity of GrabRewards Points. For avoidance of doubt, other transactions that do not extend the validity period are: GrabShuttle, GrabHitch, peer-to-peer GrabPay credit transfer, GrabPay Credit wallet top-up, Grab Subscription purchase or renewal, GrabRewards points redemption.
Points earned from transactions or activities as listed here generally count towards membership tier progression. Activities that do not count towards tier progression: Points awarded from completed Challenge/s, Marketing and promotional campaigns (unless stated otherwise), Partnerships, GrabAds. COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
