We’re rolling out GrabFood for One—a service designed to make it convenient and affordable for solo diners to order food without the struggle of having to meet minimum order values.
Under GrabFood for One, users can seamlessly browse various one-person meal options that come with no small order fees and a fixed, low delivery fee.
GrabFood for One is already available across six markets including Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
We began working on GrabFood for One because we realised that it’s challenging for a single person to order in, particularly when it comes to hitting the minimum order value. Furthermore, many Southeast Asian cuisines are traditionally designed for sharing—meals are typically served family-style, offering a variety of dishes meant to be enjoyed collectively.
As a result, ordering food alone can wind up being a difficult and unaffordable experience, given the limited options suitable for solo dining.
To guarantee that solo diners have access to a diverse range of food delivery choices, we’ve worked closely with our merchant-partners to curate meals specifically for individual eaters—offering dishes that are both budget-friendly and economically sustainable for our merchants.
In the GrabFood for One section, users can expect an array of balanced and affordable meals from our wide-ranging merchant partners.
Much like our Saver delivery option, people who select the GrabFood for One option allow for an extended food delivery time as their orders get batched together with others on a delivery-partner’s route. In exchange, consumers get to enjoy lower delivery fees.
This also ensures that we do not compromise on the earnings of our delivery-partners with the lower fees. With our batching capabilities, delivery-partners will get the opportunity to complete more orders with less time and effort.
Eating alone shouldn’t be a barrier to enjoying the convenience of food delivery affordably, and we’re committed to ensuring it isn’t.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.
Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
