Busy people all over Southeast Asia use Grab to answer the age-old question of “what should I eat today”, and get their cravings satisfied instantly with the convenience of Grab’s services. But we know that sometimes, a few search filters aren’t enough to capture exactly what you’re craving.
That’s why we’re evolving the experience from simple search to a real conversation with the launch of the Grab AI Assistant.
The Grab AI Assistant removes the limitations of traditional search bars. Instead of typing in keywords to start the search, you can now use natural language to plan your entire evening.
Whether you’re looking for “the best pizza for a TV dinner” or a “vibrant spot for a birthday with vegan options”, the assistant understands the nuance of your request and explains why a spot fits your vibe. If you’re heading out, you can confirm a table reservation and buy dineout deals with a few clicks. When it’s time for your reservation, Grab AI Assistant queues up a ride booking reminder so you can get there on time.
The Grab AI Assistant works just as well as a food delivery assistant, helping with quick reorders as well as with finding something new that matches your requirements.

While dine out and food delivery are its first specialty, the Grab AI Assistant aims to be your personal life assistant that proactively gets things done for you. We are already developing ways for you to use the assistant to book transport rides in advance, per your schedule, and plan occasions spanning multiple services.
The Grab AI Assistant is available to users in Singapore and we’re moving fast to bring this conversational magic to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam by the end of the year. Next time you’re planning a night out, don’t just search for it—chat about it with the Grab AI Assistant.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.
Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
