GrabVIP users can expect to enjoy even more exclusive privileges through Grab’s regional and local partnerships. 

The latest regional partnerships include e-commerce operator Lazada and one of the world’s leading hotel companies IHG Hotels & Resorts.

We first rolled out the GrabVIP programme in early 2025 to recognise top users who rely on Grab in their everyday lives. They had access to exclusive privileges across Grab’s ecosystem such as priority delivery and enhanced customer support. Since then, we’ve continually enhanced the programme by bringing established partners on board, to provide even more privileges for GrabVIP users.

What’s new under GrabVIP’s exclusive partner privileges? 

Till March 2026, GrabVIP users in Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines can enjoy a 30-day upgrade to Lazada’s top membership level, the Platinum Tier. This tier rewards users with exclusive privileges like enhanced discounts, priority customer support and service perks.

Extending these privileges into the travel sector, GrabVIP users in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia will have the opportunity to achieve IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite Status with just six nights’ stay, instead of the standard 40 nights. This membership tier offers benefits such as complimentary upgrades and early check-ins.

What’s in it for GrabVIP users?

Besides privileges from these new partnerships, GrabVIP users continue to enjoy exclusive privileges within the Grab ecosystem:

➤ Priority Delivery: Get free upgrades to priority delivery each month, so food arrives faster.

➤ Enhanced Customer Support: Access quicker support whenever users need assistance.

➤ Complimentary Ride Cover Basic (not available in Singapore): Protection against delayed pickups and includes a complimentary upsize to the Personal Accident coverage. Users can turn on the ‘Ride Cover’ toggle on the ride booking screen to apply it, and turn it off when they no longer wish to use it.

How to qualify for GrabVIP?

The GrabVIP status is awarded to users every quarter based on their total spending on Grab services in the previous quarter. Users who meet the minimum spending requirement across Food, Mart, Express, and/or Transport services will be upgraded to VIP status the following quarter and unlock exclusive privileges. They can retain the status by continuing to meet the same spending requirement each quarter.

Users can track their progress towards GrabVIP via the tracker found on their profile page. Those who qualify for GrabVIP will also be notified via email or in-app notification.

Elevating everyday experiences

GrabVIP is one of our many initiatives to provide users with a more rewarding experience on our platform. Last November, we rebranded GrabRewards to GrabCoins, introducing more ways to earn so users can enjoy savings from their everyday actions on Grab.

In 2023, we introduced GrabUnlimited, a membership designed to unlock savings across the Grab ecosystem for our users. One of its key benefits is savings on delivery fees, which has proven to be a significant cost-saver for frequent Grab users. In countries such as Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia, GrabUnlimited members also get to enjoy discounts on rides.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
