Grab’s 100+ Cities Delivery feature has been a favourite among Grab users since 2021. It was introduced to help users reach friends and family living in other cities when borders were shut during the pandemic.

The feature allowed users to order and send food and gifts to others in 100 cities across Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

This works by enabling senders to explore food and gift options near where a recipient lives and place an order for delivery.

Deliveries on the Grab app picked up during the pandemic because it served as a contactless way to order food and essential items. But it soon became a vehicle for our users to build and maintain connections with their loved ones.

Whether it’s delivering a feast to family back at home or sending a thoughtful care package to check in on loved ones, people are using 100+ Cities Delivery to celebrate birthdays, milestones, and holidays together—even when they can’t be there for one another in-person.

The number of 100+ Cities Delivery orders was up by over 19 per cent during festive periods.

Last year, we revamped this powerful feature and made its interface even more seamless. Now, more users can send gifts to their loved ones, especially ahead of the 2023 year-end season, using 100+ Cities Delivery.

What’s new in 100+ Cities Delivery

We have made it easier to access and send items through Grab’s 100+ Cities Delivery. Previously, users had to scroll through the app and shift to a new page to place an order. Today, we have introduced multiple access points to this feature.

Previously, the Grab 100+ Cities Delivery feature was not easily discoverable. Now, there are multiple entry points.

Users can now immediately look up a recipient’s address on the “deliver to” bar—it’s exactly like ordering for oneself. They can also toggle between cities by tapping on the globe icon or tap and choose the recipient’s address from the map.

From there, they can browse through items listed on GrabFood, such as festive meal options, or even gift items like toys and flowers on GrabMart and have them delivered to their loved ones within an hour.

Whether it’s a special occasion or a simple expression of love, we hope that our revamped 100+ Cities Delivery can help Grab’s users connect with those who matter.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
