Discover by Grab is a community-powered content feed within the Grab app designed to help consumers explore, share and engage over food experiences.
It’s currently available in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and coming to Vietnam by mid-2026 and Malaysia by the end of the year.
It is a discovery feed for food where consumers can look up places to eat or share recommendations via posts. The best part is: these recommendations come directly from other Grab users, with photos and descriptions that really give you a feel for the place and the food served there.
Currently, as a Grab user, you can:
You can filter the posts by location, occasion, trending dishes and a map view of what other users have tried. You can also check out dining options in other cities to plan where you’ll eat on your next trip.
We began developing this feature after observing that consumers often experience a fragmented journey when deciding what to eat. For example, they might ask friends for recommendations before looking up the options online. Or use one app to search for a convenient location and another to read reviews.
This back-and-forth can be time-consuming and inconvenient. Plus, it’s hard to cut through the noise and find reliable recommendations given the sheer volume of content out there. That’s why we decided to bring everything together in one seamless experience within the Grab app.
This is just the beginning. We are working on improvements to the product to make it more useful and engaging.
Building trust and confidence with user-generated content
We started our journey into user-generated content on the Grab app with user reviews for merchants in 2022. But we realised there was an opportunity to do more on our platform, as we witnessed the growing importance of social media for dining inspiration. Discover by Grab is designed to help users explore dining options in a way that feels engaging and meaningful, especially if recommendations come from family and friends, or local foodies whose tastes you trust.
These posts give users the freedom to share their dining experiences without the pressure of rating it on a scale. And by enabling users to engage with and follow one another on the app, it adds a social dimension that enhances the GrabFood experience.
Rewarding content creators through Eatfluencer
Since we rolled out Discover by Grab, we’ve collected over 80,000 posts from users.
As the volume of posts increases, recognising creators for their effort and quality helps encourage consistent contributions and makes it easier for people to find valuable content.
To do this, we launched the Eafluencer Programme in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, with plans to enhance the programme in the future.
This initiative provides monthly recognition and perks for contributors who meet certain standards of quality and engagement. Participants who qualify receive a badge, increased visibility on Discover by Grab and Dine Out rewards.
Discover by Grab is all about making food discovery easier and more enjoyable. By combining everything users need such as food options and services into one place, it simplifies the process of finding the next meal.
As we roll out this feature to more markets, we hope it becomes the go-to platform for sharing food recommendations, finding inspiration and making dining decisions.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.
Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
