Before new Grab features are launched more widely, they’re first tested by members of Grab’s Early Access Programme (EAP).
The EAP community is made up of Grab users who sign up for early access to new features and share honest feedback before they’re released more broadly. (Anyone can join, please find instructions below.) These insights help our product teams validate ideas, uncover friction, and refine the experience before launch.
In H1 2026, EAP users tested five new features across Grab in our eight operating markets —from Mobility and Food to GrabMaps and GrabMart. This article highlights the improvements they helped shape along the way.
Group Rides was designed to make sharing a Grab ride as easy as sharing a table. Overall, 84% of testers found the experience intuitive, with many appreciating that it took the awkwardness out of splitting fares.
It saves me the hassle of telling people how much to pay.
User feedback
But the feedback also uncovered one more opportunity to make the experience even clearer. While people understood that the fare was being split based on how far each passenger travelled, 1 in 4 testers couldn’t immediately tell how the app calculated each person’s share. They trusted the split, but they just wanted to understand how it works.
That’s exactly the kind of insight the EAP is designed to uncover.
A visual fare breakdown was added to the Group Rides flow, showing how each passenger’s route translates into their share of the fare before the trip begins. This gives every passenger full transparency on what they owe and why — so there are no surprises, and no awkward conversations at the end of the ride.
GrabMore was designed for moments when you’re craving more than one restaurant can offer—giving users the freedom to order from two restaurants in a single checkout.
Overall, 75% of testers found the feature intuitive, showing strong validation for the concept from the start. But the feedback highlighted one challenge: many users didn’t immediately discover GrabMore upon checkout or recognise it when it was available.
I wanted to order from two restaurants but it felt clunky—I wasn't sure if I was doing it right.
User feedback
Based on community feedback, we:
The improvements made a noticeable difference. After the update, 74% of testers rated the updated flow easy or very easy, with more than half giving it a perfect score.
The community also asked for smarter restaurant recommendations tailored to their preferences. That feedback is helping shape future improvements to GrabMore.
GrabMart OTC lets users purchase over-the-counter medications through the Grab app from trusted pharmacy and retail partners. Our EAP community showed us that giving users confidence in what they’re buying is just as important as making the experience convenient.
Add clearer info and simple pharmacist advice so users can choose the right medicine more confidently.
Provide clearer product information—uses, dosage, and side effects—and ensure availability of medicines with accurate stock updatesUser feedback
Our testers told us: medicine products need detailed product information and guidance. Grab only sources OTC medications through trusted pharmacy and retail partners, but when it comes to a buying decision, users need more specific information to feel confident that they are choosing the right product.
Booking an airport pickup means planning for something that’s hard to predict. Flights can be delayed, immigration queues vary, and baggage collection can take longer than expected.
Airport Pickup lets users schedule their ride in advance, so they can have a driver ready for them upon arrival. Overall, 73% of testers found the feature intuitive, with 85% saying email and push notifications were helpful for tracking their scheduled pick-up. However, our EAP community wanted greater confidence that the experience could adapt when travel plans change.
Please consider using Flightradar24 or airport feeds to really have a realtime tracking of the flights
I hope I can communicate with the driver earlier than 1 hour before pick-up.User feedback
We implemented real-time flight tracking which keeps drivers in sync with passengers’ actual arrival times, rather than their scheduled landing times.
We also implemented a new “I’m Ready” button where users can notify their driver when they are ready to head to the pick-up point.
Our new Merchant Detail page brings together all the information users need to decide whether to order from one particular merchant. 82.5% of testers felt more confident placing an order after seeing the new page, while 67.5% said they could make a decision more quickly.
Our EAP community helped us understand which information they value most when making that decision.
I only order food from restaurants I genuinely enjoy, but sometimes numbers mean nothing compared to an honest review. The reviews shown on the page were genuinely helpful—I didn't find anything lacking about them
User feedback
For example, the feedback also highlighted that reviews mattered most when making food decisions. More than 70% of testers found reviews more useful than operational details such as opening hours or address.
Review information now appears more prominently on the Merchant Detail Page, helping users find the information they care about before placing an order.
Every improvement in this report started with someone taking the time to test a feature and share their feedback.
From clearer fare splitting to more flexible airport pickups, your feedback helped shape experiences before they reached millions of users.
Thank you to everyone in our Early Access Programme community for helping us build a better Grab.
We publish this report every half year. The H2 2026 edition will cover the next wave of features—and the next community of testers who shaped them. We hope you’ll be one of them. Scan the QR code below to get access to EAP.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.
Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
