Grab Driver-and Delivery-Partners Lead the Way in Bringing Festive Cheer to Communities Nationwide

  • Grab Malaysia collaborates with its partners to identify and support homes in need this Chinese New Year

PETALING JAYA, 10 February 2026: As the Year of the Horse approaches, Grab Malaysia is celebrating Chinese New Year by continuing its meaningful tradition of bringing the spirit of #GrabBersamaMalaysia to those who need it most. This effort is not just a celebration, it’s a heartfelt mission to focus on moments of connection and a shared mission to ensure no one celebrates alone.

In a heartfelt effort to give back, Grab collaborated with its dedicated driver- and delivery-partners to identify the beneficiaries of this year’s outreach. The specific homes and communities were chosen by a group of driver-partners, who identified these locations as the ones most in need of support and festive cheer.

The initiative reached nearly 200 individuals across orphanages, nursing care centers, and organisations supporting persons with disabilities (PWD) in Penang, Perak, Johor, Sarawak, and the Klang Valley.

Adelene Foo, Managing Director of Grab Malaysia, shared, “The festive season is a time for togetherness. This year, we wanted our community efforts to be even more personal. Our driver- and delivery-partners are the eyes and ears on the ground, and it was their insight that led us to these specific homes. Seeing the joy these visits brought was a powerful reminder that when we look out for one another, the impact is felt deeply.”

A touching aspect of the initiative was the ‘bai nian’ (festive visits) to care homes, where 50 Grab partners and leadership spent time with residents and distributed ‘bai nian li wu’ (festive gifts). These visits brought joy to:

  • Xin Shan Le Welfare Centre (Penang)
  • Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Berjasa Kinta (Perak)
  • Pusat Jagaan Warga Tua Sri Orkid (Johor)
  • Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih Sayang (Kuching), and
  • Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar (Klang Valley)

Leveraging the Grab ecosystem, Jaya Grocer played a crucial role in sponsoring the essentials for the homes such as but not limited to rice, flour, cooking oil, canned goods, cleaning supplies, and Mandarin oranges to usher in the new year.

Uniting Brands for a Common Celebration

This Chinese New Year, Grab Malaysia reimagines festive storytelling with an industry-first brand film that unites eight different brands in a single narrative inspired by the spirit of a family reunion where different  paths, personalities and traditions come together. Beyond the celebration, the film highlights Grab as the one app Malaysians can rely on for everything they need this festive season, from meals to gifts and everyday essentials. The #GrabBersamaMalaysia initiative remains a cornerstone of Grab’s commitment to building a more inclusive and generous Malaysia, ensuring the warmth of the season reaches every corner of the country.
