PUTRAJAYA, 31 August 2026 – As Malaysia celebrates its 69th Hari Kebangsaan, Grab Malaysia is shining a light on the women across its ecosystem who keep our communities moving every day, supporting their families, contributing to their communities and building livelihoods. This year, Grab’s Hari Kebangsaan celebrations across Putrajaya, Pahang, Penang, Sabah, Johor and Melaka featured a predominantly women-led contingent of driver- and delivery-partners, PWD partners as well as Grab personnel.

As part of this year’s celebrations, Grab Malaysia brought together 100 women partners across the six states, reflecting the growing representation of women in Malaysia’s workforce and their contributions as nation-builders every day.

This year, we are proud to put our #WirawatiNegaraku at the heart of our celebrations, the women across our Grab ecosystem who work hard for their families, contribute to their communities and build a better future for themselves and those around them. Their stories remind us that nation-building is not only about the big moments, but also the everyday choices, sacrifices and contributions that keep Malaysia moving,” said Adelene Foo, Managing Director, Grab Malaysia

For many women partners, flexible earning opportunities with Grab mean being able to contribute to their households while managing personal responsibilities and being there for moments that matter. For PWD partners, accessible and inclusive earning opportunities can provide flexibility to participate in the workforce and build greater independence.

We are capable of delivering great service and fulfilling our responsibilities just like anyone else. Being part of Grab’s women-led contingent so far has strengthened my patriotic spirit and belief in myself,” said Syuhainie Shaharuddin, a PWD delivery-partner.

By offering this flexibility, coupled with safety features and community initiatives such as #SisBoleh, Grab supports women’s participation on the platform and their ability to build greater independence.

In Putrajaya, Grab together with its ecosystem partners, GXBank and Jaya Grocer, brought together close to 50 marchers, including women PWD partners, 10 EV delivery bikes ridden by women delivery-partners and four Grab EV cars. Bringing together women across Grab’s ecosystem, the diversity of the contingent reflected the different ways women contribute to their families, communities, nation and the wider gig economy. The presence of women in celebrations across the six states also provided a visual representation of their role in building Malaysia as part of the workforce.
