Grab Malaysia Launches Its First Lounge at Sunway Pyramid

  • A Grab Customer Experience Like No Other - a Priority at Sunway Pyramid

The first ever Grab Lounge in the region was unveiled by Grab Malaysia and Sunway Malls in Sunway Pyramid Mall recently. The creation of the lounge is part of the mall’s effort to ease traffic woes at the main entrance which can be backed up all the way to the New Pantai Expressway during peak hours. Along with the new lounge are dedicated waiting spaces for vehicles that are picking up or dropping off their passengers at the main entrance.

The main entrance of Sunway Pyramid (below the Lion Head) sees very high vehicle traffic on a daily basis. Shoppers waiting for their Grab driver can now wait at the Grab Lounge in comfort as the main entrance can be heavy on human traffic as well.

The lounge also enables passengers without a Grab account to call for a ride through the booking kiosks that are installed in the lounge. Tourists who do not have an account but with a working telephone number will be able to use the services as well.

“As Malaysia’s preferred ride hailing service, we are always on the lookout for creative and localised partnerships that will help add value to our business partners and driver-partners. Such partnership not only improve the overall ride experience for our consumers, but also meet our objectives of providing a safe, convenient and affordable transport service. As such, we are thrilled to be able to partner with Sunway Pyramid to launch Grab’s first ever Grab Lounge. We are certain that this will not only increase the convenience for all mall-goers but above all, help ease traffic congestion,” said Sean Goh, Country Head of Grab Malaysia.

“Traffic congestion and public transportation are daily issues of commuters today. These issues are growing frustration by large, even more-so at shopping malls. With the year-end festivity and holiday around the corner, traffic to the mall is expected to skyrocket. People are using car hailing as alternative and Grab app has been one of the major innovations that have helped ease traffic congestion and added an option to the public for public transportation”, said Kevin Tan, Chief Operating Officer of Sunway Malls.

“At Sunway Malls, we believe that customer experience comes first. In collaboration with Grab, the Grab Lounge will further increase the comfort and convenience of our shoppers as they wait to be picked up in a comfortable and safe environment.” he continued.

With its current fleet of five malls, the Grab Lounge is planned to be replicated at other Sunway Malls as well.

To make your experience at the mall even more enjoyable, shoppers are in for a treat as Grab will be giving away a special promo code valid until 31 December 2017.  Simply key in the promo code SPLOUNGE10 to get RM10 off your ride to and from the mall when you select Sunway Pyramid as your destination. It’s valid for GrabPay (Debit and Credit card) payment only and is limited for the first 1000 rides.

Grab today is in 142 cities across seven countries including Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar.
