Declare Your Vehicle at JPJ
Declare your individual private vehicle as an e-hailing private vehicle
Hi Grab driver-partners, you are required by the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) to change your vehicle code from individual private vehicle (AB/AD) to an e-hailing private vehicle (AH) at the nearest JPJ counter. This requirement is part of the e-hailing regulations and is very important for your EVP and road tax renewal.
⚠️ Don’t delay! Failure to change your vehicle code to AH will lead to your driver account restriction and prevent the renewal of your road tax and EVP.
You may find the requirements and documents that need to be submitted at the JPJ counter below.
The process is free and required for registered driver-partners in Malaysia.
1. Download the MyJPJ app from App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Click on the ‘Profile’ button at the bottom.
3. Click on ‘Motor Vehicle License’.
4. Click on your registered car plate number.
5. Check if ‘AH’ is stated on your road tax, as shown in the image below.
a. The process may be done by the owner or a representative
b. The process can be done at any State JPJ Office/ Branch that conducts vehicle Registration and Licensing activities except UTC
c. EVP details must already exist in the JPJ mySIKAP system and should still be valid
d. PUSPAKOM’s Periodic Inspection Report (VR1) for the vehicle should exist in the JPJ system (mySIKAP) and is still valid for vehicles that have reached the age limit of three (3) years from the date of registration or the year it was made
e. Insurance coverage that is still valid
a. The vehicle usage code should be AB/ AD (Private-Individual Motorcar)

e. PUSPAKOM Inspection Report (VR1) for vehicles over the age limit of 3 years from the date of registration or the year it was made.
a. Copy of your OWN and OWNER’S IC
b. Owner’s physical EVP.
c. Letter of authorization (Surat Pelantikan Wakil) from the owner
d. E-hailing Private Vehicle Declaration Form JPJ-EH1 (Pind.1/2021)
e. Amendment/Correction of Vehicle and Registered Owner Details Form JPJK8 (Pind.1/2016)
f. PUSPAKOM Inspection Report (VR1) for vehicles over the age limit of 3 years from the date of registration or the year it was made.
