Group Rides: Terms of Service

These Group Rides: Terms of Service are to be read together with the Terms of Service. By using our Service, in particular, the Group Rides feature found on the Grab Platform, you are deemed to have read, agreed and understood the terms and conditions of our Terms of Service, which are applicable to you. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of our Terms of Service, please do not use or continue using our Platform or Service.

All defined terms not defined in this Group Rides: Terms of Service, carry the same meaning as defined in the Terms of Service.

General

1. You are responsible for ensuring that all details you entered in respect of the Group Ride are accurate and complete (including route, pick-up and drop-off points and ride type). Grab shall not be liable for any delays or cancellations by reason of erroneous details or trip type entered by you on the Platform.

2. The Group Ride (including payment method or split fare preference) cannot be amended once the host has finalised and booked the Group Ride.

3. By hosting or joining a Group Ride you acknowledge and agree that members in the same Group Ride will be able to see each other’s profiles (including username, profile picture). 

As a Host

4. You are responsible for selecting the payment type for the Group Ride. Where “Equal Split Fare” is selected and any member of your Group Ride fails to make payment, Grab reserves its right to deduct the outstanding amount from your chosen payment option. Grab shall not be liable for any payment disputes arising from a member’s failure to pay you. 

5. You agree that you are the main contact for the Group Ride and you may contact or receive communications from Grab and/or the Partners on behalf of all members (including in relation to any issues arising from the Group Ride).

As a Member

6. Where “Equal Fare Split” has been selected for payment, you are responsible for the payment of your equal share (which includes Platform & Partner Fee and Driver Fee). If your payment option fails, Grab may deduct the outstanding amount from the host’s chosen payment option. Grab shall not be liable for any payment disputes arising from your failure to pay the host.

7. You authorise the host to be the main contact for the Group Ride and the host may contact or receive communications from Grab and/or the Partner on your behalf (including in relation to any issues arising from the Group Ride).

We reserve the right to add, amend or remove these Terms of Service at any time, without the need for prior notice. If you do not agree to any of the changes, you must stop using our Platform and Services. Please note that your continued use of our Platform and Services will mean that you have agreed and consented to any changes to this Terms of Service.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
