AsiaMalls signs partnership with Grab to extend GrabPay services and benefits to mall tenants and shoppers
- Partnership signifies a collective effort to move towards a cashless society and support Singapore’s Smart Nation vision
30 November 2018, Singapore – Leading mall operator AsiaMalls Management and Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading Offline-to-online (O2O) platform, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish GrabPay as the preferred payment service provider across AsiaMalls’ network of six heartland shopping malls island wide beginning January 2019. AsiaMalls and Grab will also explore opportunities to drive a more in-depth collaboration on both loyalty programmes to enhance synergy and bring more value to shoppers.
This tie-up is set to offer customers across Hougang Mall, Liang Court, Tiong Bahru Plaza, White Sands, Tampines 1 and Century Square a convenient cashless payment option and introduce exciting privileges, perks and rewards from as early as Chinese New Year next year that will enhance their shopping experience with AsiaMalls.
“As heartland malls, we are community gathering places where friends and families come together for their everyday shopping and dining needs. We see much synergy in this integration with GrabPay to satisfy shoppers’ need for speed, security and convenience. This is a win-win partnership for us. Together, we’re able to provide a more seamless and rewarding way for our shoppers to make purchases. We’re excited to be partnering with a trusted brand to drive adoption of a more cashless culture in Singapore,” said AsiaMalls Management managing director Tan Kee Yong.
Each mall within the AsiaMalls portfolio offers a unique proposition. This partnership is expected to extend GrabPay’s reach and leverage its innovation to enhance the shopping experience of AsiaMalls shoppers through special GrabRewards and AMperkz benefits. AMPerkz is AsiaMalls’ attractive rewards programme that allows shoppers to earn points and redeem attractive member benefits such as shopping vouchers and carpark redemptions. GrabRewards is Grab’s loyalty programme that rewards users for their everyday transactions.
“At AsiaMalls, we are always looking for ways to bring more value to the communities, not only through our curation of tenant mix, but also through synergistic partnerships such as this. Over the years, we have forged strong bonds with both our shoppers and strategic partners, and we are confident that this partnership will continue to unlock greater value for all stakeholders,” said AsiaMalls Management executive director Ong Kee Leng.
“Grab believes in taking a collaborative approach to encourage e-payments adoption in Singapore. We are excited to partner with AsiaMalls, who shares our vision of a cashless society, to drive mass adoption of GrabPay within the heartlands. Today, over 6,000 merchants accept GrabPay and over 80% of Grab users in Singapore are using GrabPay for various services. The partnership also underlines the appeal of Grab’s wide user base to leading brands and companies,” said Gary Wong, Head of GrabPay Singapore.
