What is PayNow VPA?

PayNow Virtual Payment address, or VPA, is a unique identifier that can be linked to your GrabPay Wallet. Once linked, you can make PayNow transfers to your VPA from your preferred banking app – just like how you make PayNow transfers to mobile numbers today!

On top of being able to top up your GrabPay Wallet using your PayNow QR code, UOB accounts and credit/debit cards, you can now set up a PayNow VPA to top up straight from your preferred bank account.

1. Your VPA would always be in the following format in Grab:
+(Country Code)(Mobile Number)#GRAB
Eg. +6591234567#GRAB

2. Set up your PayNow VPA once and you’re ready to go. No QR codes needed, no need to save your card details.
It’s just like saving a favorite payee to your banking app. A few minutes now will save you lots of time later. The best part? No top-up fees!

3. Ready to tap into all these features?
If you haven’t already, remember to set up your GrabPay Wallet PIN and verify your identity. With these new features and more constantly in the works, verifying your account now will get you access to them all.

How do I top up by QR code?

From 1 April, PayNow QR will no longer be available as a top up option.

Komsan Chiyadis

GrabFood delivery-partner, Thailand

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
