Ride Cover is a programme which comprises (1) Pick-up Delay Voucher made available to you by GrabCar Pte Ltd and/or GrabTaxi Pte Ltd while you are taking a Grab ride in Singapore only, and (2) free Personal Accident insurance product offered to you by Chubb.
There are two ways you can opt into Ride Cover.
(1) When you book a ride, you can opt in to Ride Cover by changing your Ride Cover settings for your subsequent Grab rides. Simply tap on the 3-dots icon beside the ‘Offer’ tab to open the add-on menu options for your rides.
(2) You can go to the Insurance Tile and click on Ride Cover under the “Explore Plans” tab. You will be able to read all the important information relevant to Ride Cover and opt into Ride Cover from that page.
Please make sure that your Grab App is updated to the latest version and that you are currently using a Singapore number for your Grab account.
Once you have opted into Ride Cover, we will send you a message confirming your subscription. To check if you have opted into Ride Cover, you can go to the Insurance Tile and look under the “My Plans” tab to see the status of your Ride Cover plan. If you do not see Ride Cover as one of your plans, it means you have not opted in.
Please submit a form in the helpcentre at I have an issue with Ride Cover so we can assist you.
If you have opted in to Ride Cover, you will be charged the Ride Cover Fee (“Fee”) on eligible rides and you will be able to see this in the ride receipt that is emailed to you after your ride has been completed.
Business rides booked under corporate billing will not be eligible for Ride Cover. Even if you have opted in, you will not be charged the fee for the Ride Cover.
Personal rides on GrabCar, GrabCar Plus, GrabTaxi and JustGrab are eligible for Ride Cover. Business rides using any service types are not covered by Ride Cover. If you are opted in to Ride Cover and take a business ride, no fee will be charged and you will not enjoy the Ride Cover benefits for that ride.
To be eligible for cover, you must be a Singaporean Resident and have already opted into Ride Cover before booking the Grab ride.
Only your Family Members will be covered if they are in the same Grab ride as you, or in a Grab ride booked by you, provided you have opted-in for Ride Cover.
“Family member” refer to a Spouse/partner, parent, parent-in-law, step-parent, child, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, half brother, half sister, fiancé(e), niece, nephew, uncle, aunt, stepchild, grandparent or grandchild.
No. Once you have opted in, the fee will be added to every eligible ride. If the fee is charged for a ride, that ride is covered by Ride Cover.
If your pick-up is delayed for more than 10 minutes after the given estimated arrival time, we will send you an inbox message to let you know that you qualify to receive the S$5 Grab ride voucher. You will only receive the voucher if you continue with that ride.
Pick-Up Delay Voucher is not an insurance product. It is an added feature exclusive to Ride Cover.
If the fee was not charged, that ride is not eligible for Ride Cover and the pick-up delay benefit does not apply.
Please submit a form in the helpcentre at I have an issue with Ride Cover so we can assist you.
If you have previously opted in to Ride Cover, you can opt out any time before booking a ride.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.
Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
