Two ways to supercharge your idle cash – AutoInvest & Earn+

It’s true. There are lots of investment options out there and lots of different providers too. While it’s great to have choices, sometimes, you just need simple and flexible options that take care of the complicated stuff for you.

We love flexible and simple options at Grab and that’s why we have two money management plans to help you supercharge your idle cash- AutoInvest & Earn+.

While we love both of our investment options equally, they work in different ways and offer different benefits. So one might suit you better than the other. Let’s take a closer look at both options…

What is AutoInvest?

AutoInvest is a micro-investing tool that brings our two favourite activities, spending and saving,  together. The best thing about AutoInvest is that your savings and investments build up automatically in the background as you go about your day. Every time you make a Grab transaction, an amount of your choice ($1, $2 or $5) is set aside and invested into a smart and low-risk portfolio to earn you 1.18% interest p.a*. So easy!

Simply transfer your money back to your GrabPay Wallet anytime you want and spend it on anything you wish using your GrabPay Wallet or Mastercard. From there you can also transfer funds to your bank account in a few simple steps.

What is Earn+?

Earn+ makes your cash work harder by investing into low-risk investments managed by carefully selected fund management partners. Earn+ offers you limitless flexibility and better potential returns than most saving accounts over the short-to-medium term horizon. The interest you’d earn? An estimated 2 to 2.5% p.a**!

With Earn+ you are in charge of your money. Whether you want to invest everyday or once a month, $2 or $200, you decide how much and how often to invest. Withdraw your funds instantly to your GrabPay Wallet or directly to your bank account.

When to pick Earn+ and when to pick AutoInvest?

We know what you must be thinking, both options sound so good, how could you possibly decide? Earn+ and Autoinvest both supercharge your cash by investing in low-risk and well-diversified portfolios that invest in mutual funds managed by our expert partners at UOB Asset Management and Fullerton Fund Management. But depending on your needs and lifestyle one option may suit you better than the other.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
