GRABCAR NOW AVAILABLE IN JOHOR BAHRU

Celebrate GrabCar now in Johor Bahru with RM1 promo!

Celebrate with GrabCar’s Incredible RM1 Ride Promo

GrabCar is expanding and making its foray down south. Effective from April 7, 2016, commuters and passengers in Johor Bahru can now consider GrabCar, the private hire car hailing service, available on the Grab App (formerly known as MyTeksi), as an alternative mode of transportation.

Since the introduction of GrabCar in Klang Valley in 2014, GrabCar, has quickly risen to be one of the preferred alternative mode of transportation especially during peak hours in high traffic areas.

Present in Johor Bahru to share this announcement was Jaygan Fu, Country Manager of Grab Malaysia. “Johor Bahru is poised for great development and we see an avenue for us to introduce our services as an affordable alternative transportation option to the people of Johor Bahru,” said Fu.

Fu also went on to share GrabCar not only leverages on the same safety aspects as MyTeksi but also has added features.

Similar to MyTeksi:

  • Drivers are required to go through stringent background checks, (however, any cars beyond six years old must be reviewed),
  • Both drivers and passengers have access to the 24-7 customer service
  • Drivers can connect to the nearest police station in the event of an emergency via the PDRM button on the driver’s app, and
  • Passengers can share their ride via social media platforms with their friends and family so they can keep track of their whereabouts.

“In addition, GrabCar also recently introduced an insurance policy that covers both passengers and drivers and to top it off, our top performing female drivers are part of a pilot in-car CCTV initiative to enhance the safety of both passengers and drivers,” said Fu.

Other features distinct to GrabCar are that it operates based on a fixed-fare and passengers can choose to pay either via cash or credit/debit card. “This means regardless of traffic conditions, passengers will know their fares up-front and have the convenience of doing away with the cumbersomeness of rummaging for cash to pay for the ride,” he further added.

The Incredible RM1 Ride Promo

In line with the excitement of expanding down south, Fu also took the opportunity to announce the upcoming incredible the Incredible RM1 Ride Promo* valid only for GrabCar rides. Available to consumers in the Klang Valley region and now Johor Bahru, passengers can enjoy rides at RM1 for the first 5km when they pay via credit/debit card from April 7 to 13, 2016.

“Since our inception, GrabCar also always sought opportunities to provide safe and reliable alternative options of transportation with the equal assurance of speed and a certainty of vehicle. And in view of recent economic circumstances, we are also taking affordability of rides into serious consideration as well,” added Fu.

Fu went on to add that the introduction of the promo is also timely in view of the current heatwave and unpredictable showers, therefore the low fare enables passengers to get to their desired destination conveniently.

To start using the app or to enjoy the Incredible RM1 Ride Promo*, passengers only need to download the app from either the Google Playstore OR Apple Appstore and register. For more details about the Incredible RM1 Promo or GrabCar, passengers can log on to www.grab.com .
