At Grab, your safety is our priority. Whether you are transporting passengers or making a delivery, we want you to drive with confidence knowing that you have a safety net.
Through GrabBenefits, we offer a comprehensive range of protection plans designed to support you—and in some cases, your family—while you are on the road and beyond.
In this article, we will be sharing examples of Grab partners’ eligibility for our various plans and breaking down the steps to claim from each plan, so you know what you can get covered for and how to make your claims!

Ali, a GrabCar driver, accepts a booking and is driving to pick up a passenger.
While stopped at a traffic light, his car is struck by another vehicle.
Ali suffers a whiplash injury and requires immediate medical treatment.
Eligibility: Because Ali was “on-the-job” (which covers the period from accepting a booking until the job is completed), he is automatically covered by the Group Personal Accident plan.
Coverage: Ali can claim reimbursement for his medical expenses up to RM4,000. If he had a passenger in the car who was also injured, the passenger would also be covered under this policy.

Sarah is a GrabFood delivery partner who has completed more than 30 deliveries in the previous month with a low cancellation rate, qualifying her for the Platinum tier.
On her day off, she rides her motorcycle to the grocery store (she is offline on the Grab app). She skids on a wet road and injures her arm.
Eligibility: Since Sarah is offline, she cannot claim under the standard GPA plan. However, because she meets the eligibility criteria for Insurans Kemalangan RPG 24/7, she is covered for accidents that happen outside of working hours.
Coverage: As a Platinum tier partner, Sarah can claim medical expenses reimbursement up to RM2,000. If she required an ambulance, she could also claim an ambulance allowance of RM500.

Ravi, a driver-partner, purchased the Personal Accident Plus upgrade for himself and his wife (Plan: Main Insured + Spouse) for a small monthly fee.
While on a family holiday in Thailand, Ravi trips on a hike and fractures his ankle.
Eligibility: This plan provides 24/7 worldwide protection, meaning Ravi is covered regardless of whether he is working or where he is located.
Coverage: Ravi can claim for his medical treatment expenses incurred during the trip. Had his wife been the one injured, she would also have been eligible to claim medical reimbursements up to RM5,000 or compensation for disability up to RM300,000, depending on the severity.

Lim, a driver-partner, is transporting a passenger to their destination.
While changing lanes, another vehicle accidentally sideswipes his vehicle, causing damage to both his car and the other driver’s door.
Eligibility: Standard private car insurance often does not cover accidents that occur while the vehicle is being used for commercial e-hailing purposes. Lim relies on the Grab Daily E-Hailing Insurance which activates the moment he goes online.
Coverage: This insurance covers the third-party liability (the damage to the other person’s car) and the loss or damage to Lim’s own car, ensuring he isn’t left paying for these expensive repairs out of pocket.

Hafiz, a full-time delivery partner, is involved in a serious accident while delivering an order.
He fractures his leg and is advised by a doctor to rest for six weeks, meaning he cannot work or earn income during this recovery period.
Eligibility: Because the injury occurred during “work-related activities,” and he had already self-enrolled into the scheme prior to the accident, Hafiz is eligible for the SOCSO SPS scheme. This scheme is designed specifically to protect self-employed individuals against employment injuries.
Coverage: SOCSO offers a broader safety net, allowing Hafiz to claim:
For: All Driver and Delivery-Partners (On-the-job accidents).
For: Eligible Delivery-Partners (Off-the-job accidents).
Note: This plan has very specific documentation requirements regarding your eligibility tier.
For: Grab Partners (and families) who purchased this upgrade.
For: Driver-Partners (Vehicle and third-party liability).
The SOCSO Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (SPS) provides comprehensive protection for individuals against self-employment injuries during work-related activities. This coverage includes medical benefits, temporary and permanent disablement benefits, and rehabilitation.
In the unfortunate event of an accident, we have streamlined the process to help you get support quickly:
