SOCSO SPS Contribution Matching

The SOCSO Self-Employment Protection Scheme (SPS) programme offers comprehensive protection for individuals in the event of a self-employment injury during work-related activities.
SPS Contribution Matching (SPS Gig 5.0)
SPS Gig 5.0 is a subsidy where Grab partners will only have to pay 30% (RM70) from a contribution rate of RM232.80 under Contribution Plan 2
How It Works 
Grab partners are eligible for 12 months (1 year) protection after payment has been received. The remaining 70% (RM162.80) will be borne by the government.

Sponsorship for Grab Partners!
For the year 2025, all Grab partners are entitled to a sponsorship from Grab of up to RM70 for the SPS Gig 5.0 Plan 2!
Fulfil the criteria for Level 1 or Level 2 before 30 November 2025. to receive the sponsorship.

Level 1 - Complete 100 trips in any quarter (Open to all Grab Partners)

Enrol and contribute to SOCSO by yourself as soon as possible, and complete 100 trips in any quarter this year before 30 November 2025.
After you complete the 100 trips, Grab will reimburse up to RM20 back into your cash wallet.
Self-enrolment is compulsory.
Complete your enrolment through any of these channels:
Online via the Matrix Portal
Download and access the SOCSO phone app
Set an appointment at the nearest SOCSO office

Example flow

STEP 1

Member tier Grab partner self-enroled and contributed to SPS Gig 5.0 on 1 February 2025

STEP 2

Grab partner is now covered for one year (February 2025 - February 2026) under SOCSO

STEP 3

Grab partner achieves Level 1 requirements and completes 100 trips in Q1 (January - March) 2025

STEP 4

Grab partner is reimbursed up to RM20 in the first month of the following quarter (April 2025) in the Driver App Cash Wallet

Level 2 - Ultimate Tier for 2 Consecutive Quarters

Maintain your standing as an Ultimate tier Grab partner for 2 quarters of the year continuously before 30 November 2025. After achieving this, Grab will sponsor the full amount of your contribution worth RM70.

Example flow

STEP 1

Grab partner is activated on 1 July 2024 and fulfils all the requirements to achieve Ultimate tier in Q4 2024

STEP 2

Grab partner continues to drive and manages to fulfil all the requirements again to achieve Ultimate tier in Q1 2025

STEP 3

As he has achieved Ultimate tier for Q4 2024 and Q1 of 2025, Grab will enrol & sponsor Grab partner's contribution under SPS Gig 5.0 Plan 2 in the first month of the following quarter (April 2025)

STEP 4

Grab partner is now covered for one year (April 2025 - April 2026) under SOCSO

Grab partners who fulfil the eligibility requirements may choose the following registration options:
* Self enrol at your nearest SOCSO office or via the Matrix portal. Grab will then reimburse RM70 into your cash wallet in the following month after completing your registration.
* Grab will enrol to Plan 2 on your behalf and cover your full contribution value directly to SOCSO.
Please note that if you choose to allow Grab to enrol on your behalf, you will not be covered under SOCSO until Grab enrols and sponsors your contribution. We strongly advise that you enrol on your own as early as possible to avoid being fined under Act 789 and to ensure protection when you are on the road.

Steps to claim

  1. Download and complete the Self-Employed Benefits Claim Form below, which is hosted on the SOCSO Matrix Portal
  2. Submit a hard copy of the completed form and any required supporting documents over the counter or via post to the nearest SOCSO office.

Document checklist

  1. A completed Self-Employed Benefits Claim Form
  2. Original receipts for any expenses that are being claimed
  3. Any report that have been obtained from the police, a carrier or other authorities about an accident, loss or damage
  4. Any other documentary evidence required by SOCSO that is reasonably required to assess the claim such as any additional medical or other certificates/reports/documents.
