This guide provides a checklist of documents you need to prepare and upload to complete your registration as a Grab driver-partner.

Please ensure all documents meet the requirements to speed up the review and activation process.

Please provide a clear front-facing photo for verification.

Public Service Vehicle (PSV) License is a legal requirement for individuals who wish to legally transport paying passengers within Malaysia. It is issued by the JPJ.

Simply ensure you have a valid Malaysian driving license (Class D or DA) and complete the PSV training course!

E-hailing insurance is a mandatory add-on to your motor insurance. Enforced by the Ministry of Transport, ensures protection for you and third parties during E-hailing jobs.

You can choose one of the following E-hailing insurance options:

  1. Grab Daily Insurance (GDI) Click Here
  2. E-Hailing Annual Insurance (Private Hire Car) Add-on

Based on your insurer, you will fit into one of the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: Your insurer is a GDI partner
Scenario 2: Your insurer offers the Annual Add-on
Scenario 3: Your insurer does not offer GDI or Annual Add-on

You are not required to upload this authorisation letter if you are the vehicle owner and/or your name is stated in the insurance policy (cover note/endorsement).


What if my name is not stated in the policy and not under ”All Driver” coverage?

You may contact the vehicle owner and insurer to proceed with either one of the options below:

Option 1. 
Request to add your name as an authorised driver. Upload with revised cover note that states your name.

Option 2. 
Request “All Driver” add-on and upload with revised cover note and an authorisation letter signed by the vehicle owner. Download the template at: grb.to/grabloa

A legal document that serves as proof of ownership of a vehicle. Also known as Vehicle Ownership Certificate (VOC).

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) allows cars to be used on E-Hailing platforms up to a maximum age of 15 years. However, to register, the car must have at least 1 year remaining before reaching the maximum age limit, meaning it must be below 14 years old at the time of registration.

Scenario 1: Car age 13 years old
Can register, because the car has not yet reached 14 years old.

Scenario 2: Car age 14 years and 2 months old
Cannot register, because the car has exceeded 14 years old.

Bank Account Holder Name must be under your name. Bank accounts under others will be rejected.

Q: Do I need a PSV license to join GrabCar?
A: Yes, a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license is mandatory to drive for any E-Hailing platform in Malaysia. Click Here to know how to obtain a PSV License.

Q: Can I register with a vehicle that is not under my name?

A: Yes, you can register a vehicle that is not under your name, but you need to be one of the authorised drivers stated on the insurance cover note and/or under ”All Driver” policy.

Q: What is the maximum vehicle age allowed for registration?
A: According to Ministry of Transport Malaysia, vehicles must be less than 14 years old to qualify for registration and EVP application. This is because the vehicle must have at least 1 year remaining before reaching the maximum age limit of 15 years for E-Hailing services.

Q: I have no idea how to use the Grab Driver App. What should I do?
A: No worries! We’ve got you covered with a short and simple online training via the GrabAcademy platform. This training is compulsory and designed to ensure you’re fully prepared before your driver account is activated. It only takes a few minutes to complete—hassle-free!

Q: Do I need to apply for an EVP myself?

Q: How long does the registration process take?
A: If all documents are in order, registration can be completed within 5 working days.

1. Campaign period is from 15 January 2022 (12:00am) – 28 February 2022 (11.59pm).
2. GrabPay users are eligible for a “RM8 rebate” in your “My Rewards” when you spend a minimum of RM88 on a single receipt via GrabPay Wallet.
3. The offer of “RM8 rebate” is limited to a total of 62,500 redemptions throughout the campaign period.
4. Offer is valid for TWO (2) in-store redemptions with a cap of ONE(1) redemption per user per day throughout the campaign. Shared across AEON Co, AEON BiG, AEON MaxValu Prime, and AEON Wellness throughout the campaign period. 
5. The “RM8 rebate” will be awarded instantly with a minimum transaction of RM88 with GrabPay at all outlets of AEON Co, AEON BiG, AEON MaxValu Prime, AEON Wellness; The rebate can be found under “My Rewards”. Rebate must be redeemed by clicking “use now” under “My Rewards” 30 days from the date of issuance.
6. The campaign will cease once all redemptions have been fully awarded or at the expiration of the campaign period, whichever is earlier.
7. Offer is based on a first come first served and while stocks last basis only.
8. Grab and AEON Group shall not be under any obligation to inform users, on any communication channels once the offer has been fully redeemed.
9. Offer is only available for AEON Co, AEON BiG, AEON MaxValu Prime, and AEON Wellness physical stores purchases at cashier counter only via GrabPay Wallet; offer is not applicable for online or GrabMart purchases.
10. Offer is not exchangeable for cash or replacements.
11. Offer is not valid with any other voucher, discount or promotion.
12. Grab and AEON Group reserve the right to alter, extend or terminate the promotion, or amend the terms and conditions at its sole discretion at any time without prior notice. In case of any disputes directly or indirectly arising from the promotion, the decision of Grab and AEON Group shall be final.
13. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Malaysia and any dispute arising out of or in connection with promotion shall be referred to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts of Malaysia.
14. This rebate is non-transferable to any party.
