Didn’t expect such a sunny, cozy & delicious cafe on top of the old Holland Road Shopping Centre. —————- All items we ordered are so delicious, my favs: - Portobello toast 10/10 ⭐️: very great balance between sweetness and savory - Brown butter butternut rigatoni 8/10 ⭐️: looks so simple but the flavour literally explode in your mouth (goat cheese is strong though) ————— Ambience: ☀️🌿warm, cozy, sunny with a lot of light from the terrace. Great for family/friends/couples…extremely welcoming and lovely 🥰 They sell some interesting lifestyle products too!

Visited Frankie & Fern at Holland Village for a weekend brunch, and it was a cozy spot—perfect for a relaxed meal with friends. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great escape from the usual weekend crowds. I had Frankie’s Breakfast, which came with grilled mushrooms, scrambled eggs, kale, and sausages. The portion was pretty generous, and I was definitely full by the end of it! The butternut pumpkin rigatoni was a pleasant surprise—sweet, creamy, and well-balanced in flavor. The strawberry matcha, however, was just okay. I’ve had better versions at other cafes, so it didn’t quite stand out. Overall, a lovely spot with great food and a chill vibe. Would come back to try more of their mains!

Heard so much hype about Dearborn, had to check it out! 🤩 The food is gorgeous and delicious. I would recommend *Duck and Hash* and *Potato and Egg*, very good. The sweet potato roll with butter is also not bad, very fluffy and soft. Matcha latte art is okay-ish. There is a shuttle bus connecting New Bahru and Somerset so can minimise walk if you want :) Well most important tip is to bring a portable small fan with you - must queue and super hot no aircon outside the restaurant.

We dropped by on a Friday morning and the place was buzzing. The coffee was excellent, and both the potato & egg dish and the steel-cut oat congee were exceptionally well done. They might look simple, but each had that extra touch that set them apart from your usual café fare. Just a heads-up — expect a 20–30 minute wait during peak hours.

Stopped by Hello Arigato and absolutely loved the experience. The star was the matcha–strawberry latte: creamy, lightly sweet, and super aesthetic with its layered colors. I also tried their katsu sando, and it was fantastic — thick, juicy chicken with crisp breading, fresh slaw, and soft toasted bread that tied everything together perfectly. The café has a warm, minimalist vibe that makes it great for a slow afternoon catch-up or a quiet solo meal. Overall, delicious food, great drinks, and a spot I’d definitely return to.

🍞 Hello Arigato Review 🍵 Finally tried Hello Arigato! Ordered a mix of their popular dishes — 🥪 Pork Katsu Sando – 7/10. Crispy and flavourful but a little on the fatty side. 🍳 Tamago Sando – Simple, fluffy and comforting. 🍞 Shokupan – Not my favourite; texture was just okay and it’s only available till 11 AM. 🍝 Pork Ragu Pasta – Tasty and hearty, worth a try! 🍵 Coco Cloud Matcha – So good! Creamy, smooth and not too sweet — definitely recommend. Overall, a cosy spot for brunch lovers, especially if you enjoy Japanese-inspired comfort food. ☁️✨

Kinako mushroom pasta was great! Not too salty, and not gelak Matcha latte ($7) 😋4/5 for the matcha latte — the last point docked off as I felt it could have been a tad more matcha-y.

Decided to try Hello Arigato's sando again today! 🥪 I love how they packed the food, so neat and tidy. This time, I tried their egg sando and chicken katsu sando. The egg sando is just perfect with that runny yolk! The chicken katsu is crispy on the outside and juicy inside. 😋 If you are a sando lover, you should definitely try these! Perfect for a quick lunch or a chill afternoon snack. 👌

finally gave hello arigato a try! overall, great vibes and service - but it gets crowded and there's an hour dining limit. strawberry matcha cloud ($6.50++) 🍓🍵 haven't seen a strawberry matcha drink that's at such an affordable price point in SG yet - but i guess you get what you pay for? it's leaning a lot more on the strawberry side, and i couldn't taste much of the matcha. overall still a pleasant drink though! pork ragu pasta ($22++) 🍝 outlet exclusive. nothing to rave about, just a decent plate of pasta with a tomatoey sauce and tender meat. truffle & eggs sando ($18++) 🥪 everything in this sandwich went really well together. i love how soft and fluffy the sandwich bread is too! probably my fave out of the 3 items we ordered, but i'm not sure if it's worth the price point. imo, the food was decent but slightly pricey 🥲 would consider coming back to try other items!

Tried a few dishes during our lunch date and everything was pretty enjoyable. Scallop rose rigatoni: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of their signatures, came with perfectly seared scallops and a rich sauce—though there’s quite a lot of minced garlic in the sauce, so heads up if you’re not a garlic fan. Honey soy garlic fried chicken waffle: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The chicken stayed crispy, and the seasoning wasn’t too salty when paired with the waffle. But it might get a bit jelak as you eat. Injeolmi cream latte: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Interesting and fragrant with the bean powder and mochi on top—something different and worth a try.

Headed to PS Cafe Dempsey to celebrate a friend’s birthday! 😍 The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict was a dream—perfectly poached eggs atop a buttery toast with a generous portion of smoked salmon. The Spicy Shrimp Pasta packed a flavorful punch, and the Thai Basil Chicken Rice was so fragrant. The Chocolate Blackout Cake was rich and indulgent, a perfect end. The lush greenery made the ambiance so relaxing. Great for dates, group gatherings, and special celebrations! Definitely worth a visit. 😊

North peeps, your prayers have been answered—there’s finally a brunch cafe up here and it’s called Brunch Legundi. No need to travel all the way down for your cafe fix anymore. The menu’s mostly fusion and super affordable (almost everything under $20 except for the big boys like steaks and beef ribs etc). So yes, you can brunch without feeling broke. And the best part? They accept CDC vouchers 👀 so basically you’re eating brunch on a budget, and it still slaps. If you’re in the north and need a quick brunch stop, this place is defs worth the hype. Nearest to Sembawang Mrt and the cafe place is right infront of Sembawang shopping centre

Explore the Must-Visit Places and Must-Try Traditional Breakfasts

Some of the most beloved breakfast experiences in Singapore can be found in humble, decades-old coffee shops. These spots often serve fried and steamed kueh, a favourite among the locals. Ya Kun Kaya Toast, a household name, serves up the best kaya toast—crispy bread slathered with sweet coconut-pandan jam and paired perfectly with runny soft-boiled eggs and robust kopi or teh (tea). Another local legend, Killiney Kopitiam, delivers classic Singaporean breakfast fare in a nostalgic, old-world setting, offering a favorite escape to the past.

For those seeking hidden gems, head to Keong Saik Bakery at Bendemeer or Chip Bee Gardens. Established in June 2017 by Tan Yuzhong and Ng Beng Soon, Keong Saik Bakery masterfully combines contemporary baking techniques with traditional local flavors to evoke a sense of nostalgia. Renowned for its exceptional baked goods, it has become one of Singapore's top spots for unique and delightful treats. Make sure to come during their opening hours, as these hidden gems open early. Remember that the best time to visit is early morning. Many places also include vegetarian options to cater to diverse diets in Singapore

  • Kaya Toast with Soft-Boiled Eggs: A mainstay of local breakfasts, combining crispy toast, rich butter, sweet kaya, and perfectly wobbly eggs seasoned with dark soya sauce and white pepper.
  • Nasi Lemak: Fragrant coconut rice, crispy anchovies, peanuts, cucumber, fried egg, and spicy sambal—a balanced and savory option, with fried chicken, available at both hawker centers and many cafes.
  • Mee Siam: Tangy rice vermicelli noodles in a spicy-sour gravy, topped with fried egg, tau pok (tofu puffs), and spring onions.
  • Enjoy it with a side of fried chicken, making it a complete meal that’s perfect for lunch.
  • Prata and Dosa: Indian flatbreads served with spicy sauce or chutney, perfect for bigger appetites or adventurous brunch palates.
  • Congee (Teochew or Cantonese Style): Silky rice porridge topped with century egg, minced pork, or fish slices—a comforting and filling breakfast.

For those who crave breakfast with a twist, Singapore’s cosmopolitan food scene also excels in Western breakfast classics. Artisanal bakeries like Tiong Bahru Bakery serve buttery croissants and cinnamon buns, while Common Man Coffee Roasters offers all-day breakfast menu.
