#DeliveringHappyness to underserved children
Every child’s potential is limitless. In Southeast Asia however, not all of them enjoy the same access to knowledge or even basic school stationery.
This 12th to 24th December (10am to 6pm), brighten up the lives of underserved children with your preloved or new children’s books, toys and stationery to non-profit organizations, rural libraries and community centres. Just follow the steps below.
How to donate your preloved stuff
If you don’t already have the Grab app, download it for FREE from the Google Play Store or App Store and activate your account.
PREPARE 5 ITEMS OR MORE
We need new or used children’s books, toys or school stationery (writing and drawing materials, school bags or pencil cases) for children 4 to 12 years old. Why not include a special little message to whom will receive your gifts?
BOOK AND WE’LL PICK THEM UP FOR FREE
Select the “Delivering Happyness” icon on the Grab app. Confirm your pick-up location and select the nearest “Delivering Happyness” drop-off point.
Tap BOOK and a driver will pick up the gifts from your selected location. You don’t have to pay the driver as Grab will bear the cost.
What kind of items can I donate?
Please donate items suitable for children between the ages of 4 to 12 years old. Donated items can consist of new or pre-loved books, toys, stationery & clothing, or a mixture of all. Please keep items unwrapped for checking purposes.
When can I donate?
Donation date will be from 12 December 2016 to 24 December 2016, and between the time 10.00am – 6.00pm. Do note you can only donate if you see the below icon on our app
Will I be charged for the fare to pick up and drop off the donated items?
No you will not. Grab will take care of the fare to pick up and drop off the donated items at no cost to the passengers or drivers.
What address should I key in as the drop-off location?
Upon selecting the “Delivering Happyness” icon on the Grab app, please key in “Delivering Happyness” in the drop-off location bar. A drop down menu will appear with a list of Delivering Happyness drop-off points. Just select the one closest to you.
Where are the donated items stored?
It will be at ngohub.asia office, a storage space provided for free through courtesy of our generous partner ngohub.asia.
Who will receive the donated items?
We are working with Rumah Titian Kasih, Rumah Victory, Rumah Ozanam, Yayasan Sunbeams Home, Rumah KIDS, Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Yatim dan Miskin Wawasan Port Dickson, Asrama Anak-anak Yatim & Warga Miskin Budi Mulia Nurul Hud and Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya who will receive these donated items and distribute them directly to the beneficiaries, who are underserved children. Is there a maximum weight or size of my donations?
Please keep items in recycle bags or plastics bags for us to pack the donated items for distribution.
I cannot see the Delivering Happyness icon.
Please make sure that you are on the latest version of the Grab app. If not you may update via Google Play or App Store. Also, the Delivering Happyness fleet is only available from 10.00am – 6.00pm daily from 12 December – 24 December 2016

NGOHub is an online platform that assists the non-profit sector in Malaysia through the power of volunteering, networking, grant opportunities and events. They run NGO Academy, which is a series of events to impart skills, build capacity and encourage collaboration among NGOs to make a better and more lasting impact amongst the community. NGOHub was founded by SOLS 24/7 in partnership with 7-Eleven Malaysia through its Community Cares Fund.
Terms and Conditions
The campaign is organised by Grab Malaysia (“the Organiser”) and is open to all Malaysia citizens, permanent residents residing in Malaysia and foreigners who are travelling or working in Malaysia.
- Grab reserves the right to reject any item donated that the Organiser deems unsuitable.
- No cash or credit donations will be accepted, and no payment shall be made to the donor of the items.
- The participant is not allowed to ride along with the items.
- Each ride is strictly for one pick up and one drop off only. Multiple pick-up points are not allowed and the Grab driver shall refuse such requests.
- Each booking is strictly for pick-up of donated items only, and no passengers will be allowed to ride with the items to the drop-off location
- The elected Grab driver has the right to reject items that are unsuitable upfront.
By taking part in this campaign, you have indicated that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions. You also acknowledge and agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions below and decisions of the Organiser without limitation or qualification. You further agree that all decisions of the Organiser shall be final and conclusive.
The Campaign will run from 12th December 2016 to 24th December 2016 only. The Organiser reserves the sole and absolute right to alter or end the Campaign at any time prior to the expiry of the Campaign Period without giving any prior notice and no compensation in cash or in kind shall be given.
How To Enter:
The Organiser reserves the sole and absolute right to disqualify any participant or reject qualifying participants deemed ineligible (be it under these Terms & Conditions or has engaged in a conduct that the Organiser considers inappropriate or unacceptable).
General Terms & Limitation of Liability:
Grab reserves the sole and absolute right to withdraw, amend and/or alter any part of the whole terms and conditions in relation to this Campaign at any time without giving any prior notice to the Customers and the Customers agree to be bound by those changes.
Grab’s decisions in any matter in relations to the Campaign shall be final and conclusive.
Grab shall not be liable for any claims by the participants or third-party claims or losses of any nature, including but not limited to, loss of profits, punitive, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages or for other damages and any related claims of any nature, including direct, indirect, third-party, consequential or other damages resulting from or in connection with this Campaign.
