JAKARTA, August 30, 2015 – GrabTaxi Indonesia today held Drivers’ Carnival, a recreational event organised exclusively for GrabTaxi’s driver partners and their families to show appreciation for their hard work and commitment to enabling GrabTaxi’s propositions of Speed, Safety and Certainty. [insert name] was awarded “The Best Elite Driver” for achieving the highest performance standards and won the Umrah Package. The event took place from 9am to 9pm at the Plaza Utara Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan, Jakarta.
“In addition to improving the public transportation system, GrabTaxi is committed to improving the welfare of our driver partners. We have allocated US$1.8 million for The Elite Driver, a programme setup to take care of our Indonesian driver partners’ welfare. Included in the programme are insurance protection, cash incentives and pension contributions,” said Herman Iswanto, Head of Driver Loyalty & Retention, GrabTaxi Indonesia.
The Elite Driverprogramme recognises GrabTaxi drivers for outstanding service and comprises driver partners that always adhere to Safety, Comfort and Speed in performing their duties as drivers. The Elite Drivers meet GrabTaxi’s performance standards that is based on several criteria including assessment (ratings) from passengers, the number of taxi rides fulfilled using GrabTaxi, and minimum number of complaints from passengers.
“By awarding The Best Elite Driver, we hope that the other driver partners will be even more motivated to always provide their best services as well as work harder so that they can also become a part of the Elite Driver programme,” Herman added.
GrabTaxi is also committed to improving the lives of driver partners and their families, in recognition of their contributions to the company. GrabTaxi driver partners are provided with English lessons and motivational training to further develop their skills, and their children can receive tuition assistance.
Over 5,000 driver partners and their families attended Drivers’ Carnival. They received free medical check-ups, as well as free haircut and reflexology services. Attendees were also entertained by various musical performances and games throughout the day.
“Through this Drivers Carnival event, we hope that the driver partners canould feel the relaxed atmosphere as well as being entertained for a moment from their daily routine.
