Jakarta, 10 May 2016 – GrabBike, the on-demand ‘ojek’ service provided by Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing platform, today announced that it has doubled the ride allocation area from 11 – 22 May during non-peak hours (09:00 – 15:00 WIB) as a part of its commitment to provide accessible transportation to everyone. GrabBike will guarantee ride allocation for its passengers for pick-ups and drop-offs that are within the promo areas. Any passengers who are not allocated rides, meaning their bookings are not confirmed, will receive up to five free rides.

In a previous campaign, GrabBike guaranteed its ride allocation within 10 key selected business areas in Jakarta. It has now expanded this to 21 areas, covering Benhil Karet, Kebayoran, Kuningan, Menteng, Monas, SCBD – Semanggi, Senayan, Setiabudi, Tanah Abang, Tendean, Tomang, Pramuka – Matraman, Kemayoran, Cideng, Grogol, Greenville, Mampang, Gandaria, Kemang, Mangga Dua, to Blok M – Dharmawangsa.

“This represents our goal to outserve our customers. Following our outstanding performance in the previous promo period, GrabBike has doubled our guaranteed ride allocation areas and we are confident we can meet the challenge and receive the same positive response,” said Kiki Rizki, Country Head of Marketing, Grab Indonesia. “We are not only providing people with affordable and reliable transport services, we are also saving them time and ensuring they have a safe ride, as we continually drive to improve driver and passenger safety by taking an end-to-end perspective, from operations to driver training to technology.”

Since March 2016, where GrabBike reached 50% market share nine months ahead of schedule, the business has experienced a further 50% growth in April 2016, cementing its position as the leading online ojek service in Indonesia.

Users who fail to get their bookings allocated within the promo areas from 09:00 – 15:00 WIB on 11 – 22 May 2016 will be able to ride with GrabBike for free up to five times. Grab will send one exclusive promo code for five free GrabBike rides to the user via email and/or in-app notification within three (3) working days of the booking.

These users can then key-in the exclusive promo code before each booking to redeem the free rides. Each user is allowed to use the promo a maximum of five times with a maximum fare of Rp. 50.000 per ride. Each user is only entitled to one promo code for the entire promo period. The promo code is valid until 5 June 2016 and is only applicable for GrabBike service. Cancellations from users, bikers and Grab customer service will not be counted for this promotion.
