GrabBike teams up with nine universities in Jakarta for student development in improving knowledge and experience.

Jakarta, Indonesia – October 7, 2015 – GrabBike, the app-based ojek service powered by the GrabTaxi mobile app, today announced that they will hold a digital online competition called “Grab Sekampus”, which will be followed by students from nine renowned universities in Jakarta. The competition that will be held from 5 October to 5 November 2015 is one of GrabBike’s commitments to support the youth’s development in Indonesia.

“Grab Sekampus” consists of series of exciting activities that are open for college students and the public. GrabBike will provide affordable transportation for students in Jakarta and will encourage them to promote their alma mater or their campus by using the university promo code. The nine universities are Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Universitas Budi Luhur, Universitas Mercu Buana, Universitas Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama), Universitas Nasional, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Trisakti, and London School of Public Relations.

GrabBike will provide a reward of IDR 3 million for the winner to create his/her dream campus opportunity by collaborating with the Marketing Regional team that consists of Digital Marketing, Business Development and Partnership, and Public Relations, all called Grab Entrepreneur.

“We want to encourage youths in Indonesia to further develop themselves through activities that can improve their knowledge and experience and will benefit their future. The “Grab Sekampus” competition aims to motivate as well as to foster love for the campus where they are studying at by spreading the university promo code to other users so that they can support their favorite campus,” said Kiki Rizki, Country Head Marketing PT GrabTaxi Indonesia. “By participating in this activity, we hope that the students will grow a positive spirit of competition and will continue to make innovations.”

In this activity, GrabBike will provide marketing tools and joint session to each representative from the nine universities in order to help them promoting their promo codes. A flat rate of IDR 10,000 will be applied for every order made in Jakarta area and flat rate of IDR 20,000 during peak hours (4 pm to 7 pm). GrabBike will also conduct roadshows to each campus and hold online competition on the websites as well as social media, not to mention handing out exciting gifts and souvenirs for all participants.

During the competition, the evaluation will be exercised through a point system, where each university will get special promo code. Every promo code that is successfully used by passengers will be counted as one point in the calculation table. The table will be updated every day on “Grab Sekampus” site www.grabsekampus.grabtaxi.com. Moreover, each university will get special page inside the site.
