Jakarta, 2 May  2016 – Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing platform, today introduced its latest service, GrabFood. The on-demand food delivery service caters to busy Jakartan foodies who enjoy good food and want to try the popular dishes from trendy restaurants – without having to travel through traffic to get there and wait in line. GrabFood offers food deliveries from a specially curated list of Jakarta’s finest restaurants in the SCBD – Semanggi, Kuningan and Senayan.

Jakartans are open to trying all types of new cuisines, yet being stuck in traffic or having to make reservations way ahead in advance are getting in the way of just enjoying good food. We’re beta testing GrabFood to solve this problem and make it even easier to enjoy food from the hottest SCBD – Semanggi, Kuningan and Senayan restaurants. We believe that great food should be easily available – a few taps in the Grab app on your smartphone, and you’ll have the food, still hot and ready to eat, delivered straight from the kitchen into your tummies!” said Cheryl Goh, Group VP of Marketing, Grab.

GrabFood is currently being beta tested in SCBD – Semanggi, Kuningan and Senayan areas, and is available daily at 11:00 – 14:00 PM. Customers in SCBD – Semanggi, Kuningan and Senayan can use the Grab app to flip through an array of mouth-watering menus from nearby restaurants in Jakarta. These include Bottega, PEPeNERO, Cut The Crab, and Turkuaz, curated so that customers have plenty of choice yet can be assured of high quality. From Ayam Pesto Goreng Crispy to Phillycheese Steak to Aburi Salmon Sashimi, GrabFood offers customers a variety of local fusion and international comfort food.

Just order your food or drink items under GrabFood in the Grab app, and GrabFood’s trained bikers will immediately pick up your order, handle the food with care and deliver it hot. Thanks to GrabFood’s insulated thermal bag, it’s almost like you’re dining in the restaurant.

The usual fee is IDR 20.000,- per delivery. During beta phase, users can enjoy a 50 per cent discount and pay only IDR 10.000,- for the delivery fee on all orders. Just enter ‘CEPATDONG’ as the promo code prior to each food order to redeem this promotion.

How to use GrabFood (Beta):

  1. Update your Grab app from 2 May
  2. Open the Grab app and look for the GrabFood icon in the bottom bar
  3. Enter your order drop off location, list of nearby restaurants will pop-up and ready to serve you
  4. Click on your preferred nearby restaurant to scroll through the menu, and order your food and/or drinks directly through the Grab app
  5. Enter “CEPATDONG” as your promo code to get a 50 per cent discount off the delivery fee
  6. Relax while your GrabFood bikers picks up your food and delivers it – still hot – straight to your doorstep
  7. Pay for your meal and delivery with cash on delivery
