  • Partnership comes on the back of GrabFood’s rapid growth across Southeast Asia, including 8x growth in food delivery volume in Indonesia from Jan 2018 to Jan 2019

Jakarta, Indonesia, 21 February 2019 — Grab, the leading everyday super app  in Southeast Asia, today announced partnerships with four of Indonesians’ favourite food and beverage chains including Wendy’s Indonesia, Baskin Robbins Indonesia, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) Indonesia and TASTY Kitchen. The four chains with over 400 outlets in total, spanning more than 22 Indonesian cities, are now signed on as GrabFood’s preferred partners.

The partnership comes on the back of GrabFood’s rapid growth and expansion in Indonesia and throughout Southeast Asia. In Indonesia, GrabFood expanded from two to 178 cities in 2018 and is now present in most cities with Grab’s transport services. From January 2018 to January 2019, both delivery volume and the merchant base on the GrabFood platform in Indonesia increased by 8

Commenting on the partnership, Eu Gene Hong, Head of GrabFood Indonesia said, “We’re thrilled to have our customers’ favourite chains, Wendy’s, Baskin Robbins, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and TASTY Kitchen, as preferred partners on GrabFood. This is a testament to GrabFood’s capabilities and growing market share in Indonesia. Since doubling down on GrabFood last year, we’ve worked really hard to become the most reliable food delivery service in Indonesia. Today, GrabFood orders are delivered in 29 minutes on average, making us the fastest food-delivery service in Indonesia. As our business grows, our partners grow with us too. Driver-partners earn up to 40% more in income from delivering food orders on top of taking rides, while merchant-partners earn up to 88% in incremental revenue within five months of joining GrabFood.”

“GrabFood’s growth has far outpaced competitors in 2018 and we are set to be the #1 food delivery player in Southeast Asia in 2019. This year, we will push deeper into our newer cities,  expand our cloud kitchen network in Indonesia, and further drive up the merchant experience. We will continue to build on our strengths as Indonesia’s fastest and most reliable food-delivery service to bring more of our customers’ favourite foods closer to them,” said Ridzki Kramadibrata, President of Grab Indonesia.

“We want to be where our customers are and many of them are on GrabFood today. GrabFood’s increasing popularity, rapid expansion and fast delivery time made them a partner of choice. We are excited to collaborate with GrabFood and look forward to delighting our customers through joint marketing campaigns and activities,” said Fransiscus Sumampow, President Director of  Wendy’s Indonesia, Baskin Robbins Indonesia, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Indonesia, and TASTY Kitchen Jakarta.

As GrabFood’s preferred partners, more than 400 outlets of Wendy’s Indonesia, Baskin Robbins Indonesia, CBTL, and TASTY Kitchen, will move to GrabFood’s integrated food-delivery model, which offers a superior customer experience to consumers, delivery-partners and merchant-partners. When consumers place an order with preferred partners, Grab’s integrated food delivery model sends orders directly to the GrabFood merchant- and delivery-partner apps. Merchants can prepare orders while tracking the arrival of delivery-partners in real-time. When delivery-partners arrive at the store, they can skip the queue and pick up orders directly from the counter. This increased efficiency means consumers receive their orders much faster than before.

GrabFood is the fastest-growing on-demand food delivery service, with the largest geographic presence in Southeast Asia. GrabFood is available in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. According to asurvey conducted by Kantar[1], in January 2019, GrabFood was the most frequently used food-delivery service in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi) with  68%of respondents indicating it was the service they used the most, followed by Delivery Now by Foody.Vn at 19% and Go-Food by Go-Viet at 1%, and others.
