Grab Supports the 2019 Cap Go Meh Festival in Singkawang to Celebrate Indonesia Cultural Diversity

Grab, the leading online-to-offline (O2O) mobile platform in Indonesia has announced its participation in the 2019 Cap Go Meh festival in Singkawang, West Kalimantan. Attendance at the event is expected to top 70,000 tourists from various places, all coming to enjoy the celebrations as part of “100 Calendar of Events Wonderful Indonesia” 2019.

Singkawang, 20 February 2019 – Grab, the leading online-to-offline (O2O) mobile platform in Indonesia has announced its participation in the 2019 Cap Go Meh festival in Singkawang, West Kalimantan. Attendance at the event is expected to top 70,000 tourists from various places, all coming to enjoy the celebrations as part of “100 Calendar of Events Wonderful Indonesia” 2019. As the only official ride-hailing service operating in Singkawang, Grab seeks to participate and provide a positive impact in creative and commercial aspects, as well as contributing to preserving the local culture in West Kalimantan.

Thousands of tourists visited Diponogoro Street in Singkawang to see the parade of twelve 20-meter-tall dragon replicas and 1,050 statues in the Cap Go Meh 2019 main event series. Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya also attended and kicked off the Singkawang 2019 Cap Go Meh Festival. Grab also provided GrabStop in several strategic locations to facilitate local communities and tourists when visiting the festival.
