Jakarta, Indonesia – October 22, 2015 – GrabBike today launched GrabScheme, a world-first motorcycle financing scheme by a transportation app provider. In exclusive partnership with PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) through its subsidiary PT Central Santosa Finance (CS Finance), GrabScheme is GrabBike’s latest driver initiative to reward drivers and help them improve their livelihoods.

GrabScheme aims to enable GrabBike drivers to purchase new motorcycles at lower interest rates. GrabBike wants to give drivers the option to purchase more affordable new motorcycles, so that they can have more reliable vehicles and reduce maintenance costs – and ultimately provide safer rides to passengers.

“GrabBike drivers are our partners to improve the transportation industry in Indonesia. They provide an affordable ojek service to Indonesians and it is our priority to help them build sustainable incomes,” said Kiki Rizki, Country Head of Marketing, GrabBike. “We are proud to launch GrabScheme, a motorcycle financing scheme, to enable our GrabBike drivers to buy new motorcycles to support their livelihoods.”

“Kerja sama yang dilakukan BCA melalui CS Finance ini semata-mata demi mendukung ketersediaan sarana transportasi bagi masyarakat yang aman, nyaman, dan terjangkau. Di lain pihak, kami mendukung upaya yang dilakukan manajemen GrabBike dalam menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan dan memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat,” ujar David Hamdan, Presiden Direktur, PT Central Santosa Finance.

GrabScheme – new initiative for GrabBike drivers

GrabBike and CS Finance signed a “Perjanjian kerjasama rekomendasi pembiayaan kenderaan bermotor” to provide GrabScheme. It is now available to 400 GrabBike drivers, who have been identified as top drivers based on the number of bookings completed, corresponding passenger ratings and feedback, and compliance to the GrabBike code of conduct. The application process for GrabBike drivers is easy and will take only up to 24 hours for approvals by CS Finance.

Honda and Yamaha are offering a range of motorcycles to GrabScheme on 18, 24 and 30 months instalment plans.

Benefits of signing up for GrabScheme include:

  • More affordable motorcycles
    • GrabBike pays the last month of instalment for its drivers
    • Lower interest rates compared to other motorcycle financing programmes
    • 0 per cent interest rates on two models of Yamaha motorcycles (GT 125 and GT 125 Garuda) on 1 year instalment plan
  • Additional benefits from authorised dealers
    • Extra free servicing – Honda will provide four additional free servicing to the four they usually provide on purchase of a new motorcycle; Yamaha will provide three additional free servicing to the four they usually provide
    • 5 per cent discount on spare parts from authorised dealers
    • Free access to mobile service centres for servicing on-the-go
    • Free safety riding course
  • Motorcycle insurance coverage in the event of accidents
    • CS Finance will provide TLO (total loss motorcycle coverage); motorcycles which are inoperable due to accidents will be covered by a fixed rate reimbursement percentage for five years
    • GrabBike will supplement this with additional driver insurance coverage for life and accidents

GrabScheme will be offered to a wider pool of GrabBike drivers in Q1 2016.
