GrabBike and GrabExpress Makes Debut in Bandung

GrabBike, the on-demand ‘ojek’ service and GrabExpress, an instant courrier service provided by Grab, the Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing platform, now reaching to Bandung.

  • Get around Paris van Java safely and certainly with GrabBike
  • Convenient and reliable door-to-door deliveries at your fingertips

Bandung, 1 February 2017 – GrabBike, the on-demand ‘ojek’ service and GrabExpress, an instant courrier service provided by Grab, the Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing platform, now reaching to Bandung. Starting today, residents in the Flower City have the freedom to choose the way they travel and deliver goods anytime and anywhere within one app.

Backed up with GPS technology, Grab users need not necessarily follow the usual, congested route. It works by getting around congested roads, going through the fastest and safest possible way to the drop-off point. They can also sit back and relax while GrabExpress deliver their entrusted items such as documents, parcels, and gifts as they can track the delivery process in real time together with the recipient thanks to ‘Share My Ride’ feature.

“Bandung is the third largest city in Indonesia with high population density and home to creative young people with more than 50 higher education institutions, universities, and research centres has made the city a destination for students to pursue their study and careers. It also attracts a large number of visitors – mostly from Jakarta – during weekend, thus we see an opportunity to improve transport accessibility and daily commute in this city by alternative transportation solution that is safe and convenience supported by high tech.” said Mediko Azwar, Marketing Director, Grab Indonesia.

He added that the launch will complement our GrabCar service that has firstly introduced in here. Grab is a ride-hailing app that revolutionizes the way people move, offering them a wide array of commuting solutions to bring them wherever they want to go at the tap of a button.

Grab has an end-to-end safety programme, from daily operations to driver training to technology features, to ensure that both Grab drivers and passengers are best protected throughout their journey. To ensure the safety of their rides, the passengers can see their driver’s name, plate number, and photo on the app, so they know who’s picking them up ahead of time. In addition, both drivers and passengers are also provided with free insurance coverage by Grab. All drivers are required to go through a rigorous screening process and safety riding training before they are allowed to take passengers.

As Grab aims to deliver the best user experience, the mandatory training also includes standard customer service that has been set by Grab and apps usage, aside from the safety riding aspect. Vehicle inspection is also performed to ensure all of drivers’ bikes meet certain road safety standards.

Exploring the Paris Van Java now just got easier and more affordable with GrabBike with the base fare IDR 1,800 per kilometer. For those who need instant courier service, GrabExpress can be a new choice with the base fare IDR 2,000 per kilometer.

To start using the app, passengers only need to download Grab app from either the Google Playstore or Apple Appstore and register. For more details about the GrabBike and GrabExpress services in Bandung, please visit http://grb.to/HaloBandung.
