– The new service is helping commuters negotiate Jakarta’s traffic
– Demand continues to grow with orders doubling on a weekly basis

Jakarta, Indonesia, 13 July 2015 – GrabBike, GrabTaxi’s on-demand motorbike service, announced that there has been over half a million GrabBike orders since the beta launch in late May 2015. Though still in the beta (testing) phase of the launch, commuters have embraced GrabBike to negotiate Jakarta’s traffic jams with orders doubling week on week.

Kiki Rizki, GrabTaxi Head of Marketing and Partnerships said “Indonesians value a service that can help them reach their destination in the most efficient and safest way. This is why GrabBike has become such a hit with consumers, because we take the lessons and disciplines learnt from GrabTaxi and apply it to GrabBike. Therefore not only do we provide an easy-to-use service that fulfills a need for commuters, we maintain the highest standards and work tirelessly to maintain the great reputation of the GrabTaxi brand.”

The ‘Grab’ reputation

GrabTaxi’s reputation is something that has been earned by providing the safest and best service possible. It is a culmination of hard work, passion and a desire to improve transportation across Southeast Asia. It is those values that make GrabBike resonate well with the local Indonesian commuters.

Besides the strong reputation and great track record, GrabBike also incorporates a serious and very detailed process when signing on motorbike riders. This includes detailed checks on the drivers to ensure they have the necessary licenses and clean record.

According to Kiki, GrabTaxi’s strong brand is one of the main reasons that motorbike drivers are attracted to join our platform. To date, GrabBike has registered more than 2,000 ojek drivers in under 8 weeks since its launch.

“GrabTaxi is also the leading on-demand transport app in the region in 22 cities across 6 countries. Drivers who register onto our platform immediately have access to a larger customer base,” Kiki added.

Safety remains paramount

Despite this increasing the effort and cost of building a database of drivers, this is an essential part of the overall service. Therefore GrabBike has the highest safety and training standard in the entire industry and is continuously evaluating the process to improve upon it if required.

Kiki shared, “We pride ourselves on our record and quality of service, so when we enter a market or new industry, we do not look at just meeting existing standards. If they do not meet our high expectations and requirements, we institute new procedures and criteria to better the entire industry and create a service that we can be proud of. However most importantly, we ensure it is our drivers and the passengers who enjoy the benefits of our hard work.”

To celebrate this great occasion, GrabBike offers free orders up to IDR IDR 50,000 on July 14, 2015 by using “500K” promo code (the promotion is applicable for one time per user). Moreover five lucky winners whom share their excitement of 500K promo on social media will receive IDR 500.000 cash prize for each persons.
