Grab Expands GrabFood Service to Yogyakarta, Semarang & Palembang

Jakarta, 25 January 2018 – Grab, the leading on-demand transportation and mobile payments platform in Southeast Asia, will now not only ferry you across town to your favorite destination in Indonesia but also deliver your food with GrabFood service following its expansion to three new cities: Yogyakarta, Semarang and Palembang.

 

The service, now available in nine cities nationwide with over 30,000 merchants, lets customers order food from nearby eateries within 3 km and have Grab driver-partners bring it to their offices or homes.

First launched in Jakarta in 2016, the service has debuted in Surabaya, Bandung, Bali, Makassar, and Medan last year. GrabFood is available on the Grab app under food service and customers can flip through an array of mouth-watering menus from nearby restaurants with an affordable delivery fee starting from IDR3000 for those living in cities outside Jabodetabek.  

They can also track the driver-partners location and estimated time of arrival in real-time and chat them through GrabChat feature available on the app that enable seamless communication between customer and driver-partner without leaving the Grab app or incurring mobile charges.

Place your GrabFood order now!

  1. Download Grab app on Google Play or AppStore
  2. Open the Grab app and tap the “Transport” button on the upper part of the app and switch to “Food” service to use GrabFood service
  3. Enter your order drop off location, list of nearby restaurants will pop-up and ready to serve you
  4. Click on your preferred nearby restaurant to scroll through the menu, and order your food and/or drinks directly through the Grab app
  5. Tap on “Confirm Order”
  6. Relax while your GrabFood driver-partner picks up your food and delivers it – still hot – straight to your doorstep
  7. Pay for your meal and delivery with cash on delivery
  8. Enjoy your meal
