Bangkok, 30 May 2018 – Grab Thailand once again reinforces its commitment to improving the livelihood of its driver-partners by offering 100 scholarships of Bt.10,000 each, totaling 1 million baht, under ‘Grab the Future’ campaign to support a sustainable future for the children of the driver-partners.

Mr. Tarin Thaniyavarn, Country Head of Grab Thailand, said, “Our driver-partners are the core of our business which is why we are committed to improving benefits and care for them and their families, the ones who are most important to them. We understand that to be able to take good care of their families, we must help them improve the quality of life, provide them a better work environment and support them to have a higher income. Therefore, Grab has initiated this education sponsorship program to support the children of our driver-partners under ‘Grab the Future’ campaign as a way to thank them and lighten the load of their household expenses, while supporting the education of children who are the future of our nation.”

‘Grab the Future’ will select applicants based on following eligibility criteria;

  1. They must be driver-partners of GrabTaxi, GrabCar, GrabBike (Win), or GrabBike (Delivery) who have been providing these services on an ongoing basis for at least 2 years; or,
  2. Have been able to generate a significantly high level of revenue during the past 6 months and have received a minimum average of 4.8 star-ratings
  3. Their children must be currently enrolled in elementary or secondary level school in the academic year 2018 or university level in the academic year 2019.

“Grab has always placed great importance on elevating the quality of life of our driver-partners and supporting the education of Thai youth. Prior to this campaign, we have organized GrabSchool, a workshop to train our driver-partner’s children how to become entrepreneurs, as well as sponsored several programs including Saturday School, a nonprofit educational program for children, and the Neighbor Youth Camp project by Neighbor Ranger, a volunteer group that arranges excursions for underprivileged children,” concluded Mr. Thaniyavarn.
