Grab Thailand Launches Flood Relief Programme to Support Communities Affected by 2026 Flood Disaster
.
Chantsuda Thananitayaudom, Country Head of Grab Thailand, said: “Following the severe flooding in Bangkok and several provinces across Thailand, Grab has been closely monitoring the situation and activated a 24-hour War Room on September 25 to assess developments and potential impacts. We have continuously adjusted our business and service operations to match the conditions in each area, ensuring we serve the mobility, food delivery, and essential grocery needs of both local residents and international visitors to the best of our ability. Above all, the health, welfare, and safety of our drivers and riders remain our top priority.”
“We have also been communicating proactively and regularly with them through key channels, including the Driver App and dedicated community groups on social media. This includes sending alerts on areas to avoid, safety precautions for traveling during heavy rain, and real-time updates on locations where services can safely resume as conditions improve. These updates equip them with timely information to assess road conditions before traveling, empowering them to make informed decisions about offering services based on their personal safety and comfort.”
Additionally, Grab has rolled out a comprehensive series of relief measures and is working closely with strategic partners across the public and private sectors to ease the impact on our ecosystem partners and affected communities.

Support Measures for Drivers, Riders, and Merchants:
- Temporary Flexibility on Service Guidelines: Drivers and riders may decline or cancel bookings or delivery orders that require traveling through flooded or high-risk zones without impacting their benefits eligibility or resulting in suspension of their accounts.
- Flood Risk & Road Closure Alerts: Up-to-date information on flooded roads, high-risk zones, and road closures is integrated directly into the Grab Driver App. They can also report hazards in real time, with crowd-sourced updates reflected dynamically on GrabMaps to assist fellow drivers.
- Relief for Grab EV Drivers and Riders: In collaboration with strategic partners under the Grab EV programme, Grab is facilitating temporary rental fee waivers or reductions (subject to partner terms) for those under EV Rental or Drive-to-Own schemes. Fleet partners are also supplying replacement vehicles for units damaged by floodwaters.
- Financial Relief & Loan Deferrals: GrabFin is offering interest-free loan payment deferrals for impacted drivers, riders, and merchants, focusing on Bangkok and severely affected provinces, including Chonburi, Rayong, Nakhon Pathom, Chanthaburi, Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Chachoengsao, and Sa Kaeo.

Support for Affected Communities and International Travelers:
- Free Emergency Shuttles for Stranded Travelers: In partnership with Airports of Thailand (AOT), Grab deployed six shuttle buses on September 26–27, 2026, to provide free transportation for stranded airport passengers and tourists from Suvarnabhumi Airport to key transit hubs, including Wongwian Yai BTS Station and Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre MRT Station.
- Essential Relief Bag Donations: Grab donated over 1,000 relief packages containing ready-to-eat meals and clean drinking water to flood-affected communities, coordinated through the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Department of Land Transport (DLT), the Ministry of Transport, and the Office of the Prime Minister.
- Supply Donations for Vulnerable Groups: Grab provided over 6,000 items of dry food and bottled water via Ple Nakorn’s relief initiative to support vulnerable local groups.
- Emergency Meal Distribution via “Bhumjaithai Kitchen”: Grab activated a specialized emergency feature on GrabFood, introducing “Bhumjaithai Kitchen” to allow flood-affected residents in Bangkok to order hot meals delivered directly to their homes free of charge from September 29 to October 1, 2026.
