Grab and TAT Jointly Launch “Grab Amazing Thai Rares” Campaign to Boost Tourism Through Fandom Marketing
.
Grab, in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), has officially launched the “Grab Amazing Thai Rares” campaign, aiming to stimulate the economy by boosting tourism, particularly across Thailand’s 55 secondary cities. Riding the growing Fandom Tourism trend, the campaign features celebrity duo “Ling-Orm” to inspire Thai and Chinese travelers to explore the country’s hidden-gem destinations, unique cultural experiences and local culinary delights.
As part of the campaign, Grab has launched trilingual guidebooks available in Thai, English, and Chinese, highlighting 11 must-visit destinations in line with TAT’s “Feel All the Feelings” campaign. Consumers can also participate in an engagement activity for a chance to win exclusive trips with the superstar duo.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said, “TAT remains committed to promoting domestic travel and inspiring Thais to discover the diverse attractions Thailand has to offer—from major cities and emerging destinations to hidden gems that reflect the unique identity and character of each locality. This aligns with the evolving preferences of today’s travelers, who increasingly seek meaningful journeys that allow them to immerse themselves in local culture, traditions, and authentic stories.”
“Our partnership with Grab will help drive meaningful domestic tourism while showcasing Thailand’s rich travel experiences to international visitors. Through collaboration with popular superstars like Ling and Orm, who have a strong fanbase in both Thailand and overseas, we hope to inspire more people to explore and experience the country in new and exciting ways.”
Chantsuda Thananitayaudom, Country Head of Grab Thailand, commented, “As an official partner of TAT, Grab is committed to continuously enhancing our platform to provide convenient and safe travel experiences for tourists. We have proactively launched various initiatives and campaigns that promote tourism and stimulate local economies in line with the government’s policy.”
“Last year, we partnered with TAT to launch the “Travel Thailand with Grab: Enjoy the Journey, Trust the Safety” campaign, which marked the first time Ling-Orm joined us as Friends of Grab to help promote domestic tourism. The campaign received an overwhelmingly positive response, generating over 300 million impressions and increasing ride-hailing usage across Thailand’s secondary cities by up to 48%.”
“Building on this success, this year’s ‘Grab Amazing Thai Rares’ campaign encourages travelers to discover another side of Thailand through hidden attractions, authentic local cuisine, and unique cultural festivals, in support of TAT’s long-term ‘Amazing Thailand’ strategy. We continue to leverage the popularity of Ling and Orm among both Thai and Chinese fans as part of our strategy to ride the booming Fandom Tourism trend, helping expand tourism opportunities while empowering local economies.
