Grab and TAT Team Up to Launch “Grab Now Go Around” Project, Boosting Thai Tourism Through Art

.

Grab Thailand, in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), has launched “Grab Now Go Around”, a tourism-inspired art project that adds vibrant color to Thai tourism and celebrates its 12th anniversary in the country.  The initiative brings together five renowned Thai artists — Chubbynida, YEEDIN, Sahred Toy, ease around, and Painterbell — to create unique and captivating art landmarks across five major tourist cities:  Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Pattaya, Phuket, and Bangkok.

The project features a mix of art installations, murals, and cafe window displays and decorations that capture each city’s local charm and identity. Through their signature characters and styles, the artists blend cultural essence with creative expression, offering both domestic and international travelers the opportunity to check in, explore, and experience Thailand’s vibrant diversity until the end of the year.

Chantsuda Thananitayaudom, Country Head of Grab Thailand, stated, “Today’s travelers are seeking more meaningful and unique experiences, especially those related to art and culture. Visiting exhibitions and art installations has become one of the most popular tourism trends among Gen Z and Millennials. We see art as a bridge that connects people to destinations, aligning with Thailand’s vision of becoming a Creative Destination.”

“As an official partner of TAT, Grab has initiated the ‘Grab Now Go Around’ project in collaboration with renowned local artists who are beloved among the young generations. Together, we have created art landmarks across five key tourist cities— from art installations and murals to café window displays.  Through their signature characters, the artists invite everyone on a journey to eat, explore, and experience each city, while inspiring young travelers to discover hidden gems and inspirations throughout Thailand.”

Wannapha Kiatphongsa, Regional Director for Central Region, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said, “TAT is committed to elevating Thailand’s tourism industry as a key driver of the Thai economy. We aim to position Thailand as a Creative Destination, reinforcing the momentum of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism & Sports Year 2025 campaign. The ‘Grab Now Go Around’ project demonstrates our support for Thai artists by harnessing creativity to showcase the unique identity and charm of key tourist cities from fresh perspectives.  We believe this collaboration will further enrich Thailand’s tourism landscape and add vibrancy to the upcoming travel season.”

5 cities, 5 inspirations: Grab invites you to escape together

  • Escape the chaos and unwind in Chiang Mai: Featuring artwork by Chubbynida (Chanida ‘Nida’ Areewatnasombat), an illustrator known for her charming, round-faced character radiating warmth and friendliness. Her theme, “The City in Your Palm,” captures the essence of Chiang Mai from iconic local delights such as Khao Soi  (Northern Thai curry noodle soup) and Sai Ua (Northern Thai sausage) to the enchanting Lanna lanterns. The installations are displayed at One Nimman, LONDON BAKERY, and Suki Changphuak (behind Chiang Mai University).
  • Escape the ordinary and dive into bold flavors in Khon Kaen: Featuring artwork by YEEDIN (Rasika ‘Panpan’ Saiseang), an illustrator known for her vibrant color palettes and whimsical fantasy characters. Her food-loving demon character “MERCY” explores the Northeast region, celebrating the vibrant culture and rich flavors of local Isan cuisine. The installations can be found at Ton Tann Market, Nap’s Coffee, and Roast8ry Khonkaen.

  • Escape the dullness and recharge your energy in Pattaya: Featuring artwork by Sahred Toy (Arak ‘Tod’ Onwilai), one of Thailand’s most celebrated illustrators, recognized for his books and brand collaborations. His pieces highlight the lively spirit of this seaside city, emphasizing the connection between people, food, and endless journeys in a city that never sleeps. The installations are showcased at Central Pattaya, Sunset Coffee Roaster, and Lighthouse Bay.

  • Escape the same old menus and discover culinary diversity in Banthat Thong (Bangkok): Featuring artwork by the ease around team (Chaiwat ‘Por’ Uthaikorn and Waristha ‘Tarn’ Jongsawasdi), under the theme “Creative Food Destination.” Their pieces portray Banthat Thong as a vibrant hub of food culture and social gatherings. The minimalist illustrations are brightened with vivid colors and infused with iconic local dishes such as Mookata (Thai-style barbecue and hotpot), Thai tea, and Bua Loy (colorful rice balls in coconut milk), set against Banthat Thong’s unique blend of vintage charm and modern flair. The artworks are on display at Banthat Thong area, around Chula Soi 5.

  • Escape the Old Me and Rediscover Phuket’s Old Town:  Featuring artwork by Painterbell (Seatapron ‘Bell’ Korwanichakul), creator of the charming, playful, and imaginative characters “John Lulu and Friends.” His works draw inspiration from classic Sino-Portuguese architecture, blending it with graphic patterns that capture the lively spirit of the Old Town Phuket.
