.

Grab, a leading superapp in Southeast Asia, has announced a strategic partnership with Yodpiman Market Company Limited, the operator of Pak Khlong Talat, Thailand’s largest and most historic flower retail and wholesale market. This collaboration is aimed at expanding the number of flower shops available through GrabMart services, with a concerted effort to support and promote small to medium-sized flower shops in the market, enabling them to reach new customers and business opportunities through digital platforms.

Flowers and garlands consistently rank among the top 10 best-selling products in the non-food category on GrabMart. The number of flower orders on the Grab app grew by 70% in the third quarter compared to the same period last year. This strategic move underscores Grab’s commitment to supporting and empowering MSMEs, facilitating the digitalization of offline businesses and increasing their online visibility.

Chirakit Kwangsukstith, Head of Deliveries, Grab Thailand stated “One of GrabMart’s key strategies is to provide a wide variety of daily essential products while simultaneously expanding the spectrum of merchant-partners on the platform. This strategic approach aims to fulfill the diverse needs of our users comprehensively, covering product availability, price range, and service coverage, with the ultimate goal of enhancing user satisfaction.”

“In addition to the fresh produce category, including vegetables and fruits, which is the key driver of the Quick Commerce market, flowers and garlands are another category that continues to grow and ranks among the top ten best-selling products in the non-food category. In the third quarter of this year, we observed a growing trend in this category, with a 70% increase compared to the same period last year.”

“We are actively onboarding more flower shops onto our platform to better serve our users. Our recent collaboration includes a strategic partnership with Yodpiman Market, the operator of Pak Khlong Talat areas, with the aim of promoting and supporting small and medium-sized flower shop owners within the market. By leveraging our platform, which boasts a vast user and driver-partner base, these entrepreneurs can enhance their business opportunities by expanding online sales channels through our GrabMart service. Simultaneously, our users will have a wider array of choices to purchase quality and fresh flowers from these shops, thanks to our instant delivery service. Grab and Yodpiman Market will continue to collaborate, supporting them through joint marketing campaigns, particularly during significant festivals such as Loy Krathong Day, New Year Festival, and Valentine’s Day.”

Saharattphom Preekran, General Manager of Yodpiman Market Company Limited, commented, “Pak Khlong Talat stands as the largest flower market in the country and ranks as the fourth-largest flower trading centre globally1, selling a wide assortment of locally grown and imported flowers at affordable prices. Currently, we have more than 480 flower shops in two zones: the Yodpiman Market Zone and the Flower Shop Zone on Chakkraphet Road.”

“Aside from our commitment to advancing market management, we are exploring ways to support and empower entrepreneurs, ensuring a consistent and stable income from their sales. Partnering with Grab is a significant stride for us in bolstering their business potential, enabling them to diversify sales channels and reach untapped customer segments. Simultaneously, consumers can effortlessly and conveniently indulge in purchasing quality flowers from our markets through GrabMart, with swift and efficient delivery. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in facilitating mutually beneficial outcomes for both entrepreneurs and consumers.”
