PEA and Grab Thailand Sign MoU to Enhance Operational Efficiency through Digital Platform

.

The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and Grab Thailand have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the GrabForBusiness solution, enabling PEA staff to conveniently use Grab’s ride-hailing service—Thailand’s No.1 ride-hailing platform*— for travel within Bangkok and the surrounding areas. This partnership promotes transparency and traceability through a comprehensive digital system and allows for effective planning and control of travel expenses, supporting safer travel backed by Grab’s high safety standards.

Chakri Kijbuncha, Deputy Governor, Logistics and Organization Service of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), stated, “PEA is delighted to collaborate with Grab in piloting an on-demand ride-hailing system within the organization, replacing our previous monthly car rental arrangement, which incurred fixed costs for driver wages and fuel—often misaligned with our actual, day-to-day usage. Grab offers a more flexible transportation solution, allowing us to manage costs more systematically while better meeting employee needs.”

“PEA remains committed to integrating digital technology to enhance our operational efficiency and reinforce transparency across the organization. Good governance has always been our top priority, ensuring that both executives and staff operate with integrity, fairness, and accountability. This partnership with Grab marks a significant step for government agencies in embracing digital platforms to enhance operational performance and implement more structured cost management, further reinforcing our commitment to becoming a transparent organization.”

Punnada Leung-Aram, Head of B2B Enterprise at Grab Thailand, shared, “Over the past 12 years in Thailand, Grab has become an integral part of the lives of millions of Thais—whether through transport, food, daily essentials, or parcel deliveries. Not only do these services respond to the daily needs of general users, but they are also increasingly becoming a preferred solution among corporate clients. This led to the development of ‘GrabForBusiness’— a business solution tailored to meet the needs of corporate clients by offering greater convenience.”

“With GrabForBusiness, organizations benefit from improved cost efficiency, reduced paperwork, and a lighter administrative load for employee reimbursements, all while relying on Grab’s trusted standards of service quality and safety. We are honored to support PEA in leveraging digital technology to improve government operations. This partnership will enable better planning and transparent expense tracking, and ultimately, reduce the risk of internal fraud.”
