Hotpot War Heats Up: GrabFood Sees 65% Jump in Suki Orders Bringing Chiang Mai’s Legendary “Suki Changphuak” Exclusively to Bangkok with “Only at Grab”
.
GrabFood, Thailand’s No.1 food delivery platform¹, reports a 65% surge in Suki orders—including both hotpot and stir-fried styles—during June to July 2025, driven by increasingly fierce competition in Thailand’s hotpot suki restaurant sector. Suki remains one of GrabFood’s best-selling single-dish items, with over 270,000 dishes sold annually through the app.
Building on this rising trend, GrabFood has brought the famous Chiang Mai-based stir-fried suki brand, Suki Changphuak, to Bangkok , making it available to both locals and international visitors exclusively under its “Only at Grab” sub-brand. The brand’s first Bangkok branch is now open on Banthat Thong Road, aiming to help revive the street food haven.
Chirakit Kwangsukstith, Senior Director – Deliveries, Grab Thailand, commented, “The fierce competition in Thailand’s THB 25-billion hotpot buffet industry is not only shaking up dine-in trends, but also influencing food delivery behaviors. This is reflected in the doubling of Suki searches on our app, alongside a 65% growth in Suki orders during June – July 2025 compared to the same period last year. Notably, over 80% of our users prefer single-dish Suki, whether stir-fried or soup-based.”
“Thai-style Suki, both stir-fried and in soup, remains one of the most popular choices, with over 270,000 orders annually, thanks to its simplicity, rich flavors and variety of ingredients—meat, vegetables, and glass noodles—providing all five essential food groups in a single dish. The most-ordered items are stir-fried Suki with pork, followed by beef and seafood. On GrabFood, the top three stir-fried Suki brands are Suki Changphuak, Suki Dao Reang, and Elvis Suki&Seafood.”
As part of its strategy to offer a wide variety of quality food options and elevate local culinary legends to a broader audience, Grab is featuring Suki Changphuak under its “Only at Grab” sub-brand. Renowned for its flavourful stir-fried Suki with fresh vegetables and authentic wok aroma, Suki Changphuak is now available exclusively on the Grab app in Bangkok, expanding from its six Chiang Mai branches.
Natsuwan “Fah” Imjaiboon, Owner of Suki Changphuak, said, “After numerous requests from fans in Thailand and abroad, we’re excited to open our very first branch outside Chiang Mai. Our inaugural Bangkok location on Banthat Thong Road—a prime area famous for street food—allows customers to enjoy their favorite dishes in-store or via the Grab app – our exclusive delivery partner.”
She continued, “Our channel strategy balances offline and online to minimize risks. Grab has been a key partner for us since the post-COVID period, with delivery now accounting for 30% of our sales. We’re also exploring opportunities to open more branches in Bangkok soon.”
