Grab Reports Strong Uptake for “Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)” Co-Payment Scheme More than 275,000 merchants nationwide have leveraged AI through “GrabMerchant AI Assistant” to strengthen their businesses
.
GrabFood, Thailand’s No.1 food delivery app, has revealed the success of its “GrabFood x Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)” campaign, running from June 15 to September 30, 2026. The campaign generated over 20 million food delivery orders for participating merchants, driving a two-fold increase in their average sales compared to the previous cycle of the government co-payment scheme.
The number of GrabFood users ordering food from participating merchants under the government scheme also increased by more than 40% compared with the previous cycle, with Bangkok remaining the leading province in terms of redemption and spending, while Maha Sarakham emerged as the fastest-growing province, recording a 2.5-fold increase in spending.
In addition, Grab is continuing to support the government’s direction in encouraging merchants and restaurant operators to leverage AI to improve operational efficiency and create business opportunities at no additional cost.
To date, more than 275,000 merchants nationwide have used the GrabMerchant AI Assistant feature in their GrabMerchant App, which provides recommendations and analyzes transaction data from the platform. Merchants using the AI feature regularly recorded an average 20% increase in revenue from orders placed through the Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40) scheme.
Chantsuda Thananitayaudom, Country Head of Grab Thailand said, “The latest cycle of the Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40) subsidy scheme continued to receive a positive response, particularly from delivery platform users. This momentum is demonstrated by more than 20 million food orders placed with participating merchants on GrabFood over the past three months.”
The number of users participating in the “GrabFood x Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)” campaign also increased by more than 40% compared with the previous cycle. Bangkok, along with major provinces such as Chonburi, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai and Nakhon Ratchasima, recorded the highest levels of spending.
“Grab continues to support the extension of the government scheme from October 1 – November 30, 2026, helping stimulate the macroeconomy,” added Chantsuda.
Grab also revealed key highlights from “GrabFood X Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)” campaign including:
- Order Growth: Total food delivery orders from participating merchants surpassed 20 million, more than doubling compared to the previous cycle.
- Merchant Impact: The number of participating merchants grew by over 40%, with average sales per merchant doubling.
- Top Provinces by Spending: Bangkok, Chonburi, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, and Nakhon Ratchasima.
- Top Provinces by Spending Growth: Maha Sarakham, Hua Hin, Hat Yai (Songkhla), Phayao, and Nakhon Pathom.
- Top 5 Food Categories: Made-to-order dishes, noodles, rice with curry, fast food, and tea and coffee beverages.
In addition, Grab continues to support and encourage restaurant operators, particularly SMEs, to leverage AI technology to strengthen their businesses. This includes the “GrabMerchant AI Assistant,” launched in 2025, which allows all GrabFood merchants to access the feature free of charge through the GrabMerchant App.
The AI assistant helps merchants conveniently analyze platform transaction data, including sales performance, popular menu items, peak ordering periods, and customer behavior. These insights can then be used to support menu management, business planning, and marketing, helping merchants identify opportunities to grow their business.
Currently, more than 275,000 GrabFood merchants nationwide have now used the GrabMerchant AI Assistant, with nearly 55%—or approximately 150,000 merchants—using AI regularly each month to analyze sales data and support their business planning. More than 80% of merchants participating in the Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40) campaign used this feature, and regular users recorded 20% higher revenue growth compared to those who did not use it.
“Grab will continue encouraging merchants to leverage AI technology alongside ongoing upskilling opportunities through the GrabAcademy programme, providing them with practical and relevant knowledge to support their businesses,” added Chantsuda.
