Grab Fully Launches Dine Out Service in Thailand Offering Both Table Reservations and Dining Deals

.

GrabFood, Thailand’s No.1 food delivery platform¹, has announced the full-scale launch of its “Dine Out” service in Thailand, following last year’s acquisition of Chope, Asia’s leading dining reservation platform. The service includes Dine Out Book Table, a newly introduced restaurant reservation feature targeting premium segments, and  Dine Out Deals, designed for users seeking attractive discounts and special offers at over 3,000 restaurants,  with usage increasing over 250% year-on-year.

To mark the launch, Grab has rolled out a nationwide campaign, “The Missing Deals & Table,” aimed at exciting diners while highlighting the value lost from missed deals and the time wasted by not using the service.  The move is part of Grab’s omnicommerce strategy of integrating online and offline experiences, providing users with a seamless, all-in-one app experience.

Panomkorn Jirasatienpong, Director of Marketing at Grab Thailand, said: “Grab first introduced Dine Out (previously called Dine-in)  in Thailand in 2023, addressing the growing ‘Revenge Dining’ trend as consumers sought to reconnect socially and enjoy dining experiences post-pandemic. We initially focused on offering dining deals, which resonated particularly well with working professionals.”

“Over the past year (August 2024 – July 2025), deal purchases have surged more than 250%. With Chope’s integration into Grab, we’ve successfully combined expertise and technology to now fully scale Dine Out —offering both table reservations and dining deals, making dining out more accessible, affordable and enjoyable for everyone.”

Dine Out Book Table

  • Targeting the mid-to-premium segment,  Dine Out Book Table caters to young adults and urban professionals who are willing to pay for memorable experiences, particularly for special occasions and celebrations. Average spending per meal ranges from  THB 500–1,500 per person.
  • The service offers curated selections of top-tier restaurants—from fine dining and renowned hotel venues to premium casual dining and trending hotspots. Currently, more than 500 restaurant brands in Bangkok and Phuket are partnering with Grab, with plans for further expansion.
  • To enhance the dining experience, Grab is offering exclusive promotions such as “Book with Grab, Get Free Dish”, where users receive complimentary dishes from participating restaurants. Additionally, a special offer for deal purchasers by using code DINEOUT20 for a discount on your Grab ride, reinforcing Grab’s Power of Superapp strategy by seamlessly integrating mobility and dining services to deliver a complete experience—from travel to table.

Dine Out Deals

  • Dine Out Deals is tailored for deal-savvy users who prioritize discounts and value when making dining decisions. A recent survey among GrabFood users revealed that attractive deals are one of the key drivers behind dining decisions—after menu selection and travel distance.
  • Currently, Grab offers dining deals in two main formats: Voucher Deals, which allow users to purchase in advance and redeem for special set menus or discounted prices at restaurants, and Total Bill Discounts, which provide instant savings on the entire bill when dining in. Today, more than 2,500 restaurant brands are participating, ranging from quick-service chains to premium dining establishments.
  • These dining deals are designed to suit diverse consumer behaviors and preferences. Based on Grab’s user insights, Dine Out Deals users fall into three main segments:
    • Solo Treats – individuals purchasing set-menu deals from mall-based restaurants or popular chains to reward themselves with affordable, quality lunches or dinners.
    • Couple Dine Out – couples frequenting cafés, dessert shops, and trendy casual dining spots for dates or special moments.
    • Group Gathering – larger groups of friends, families, or colleagues, who favor  buffet, yakiniku, suki, and shabu restaurants, which remain among Thailand’s most popular group dining choices.

“We are launching The Missing Deals & Table campaign in Q3 to officially introduce Dine Out. The campaign highlights the hidden value and time consumers often miss—such as unclaimed discounts or long waits for unreserved tables. Leveraging a 360-degree marketing approach, Grab is driving FOMO through creative activations across Bangkok, including a giant installation of ‘missing deals’ at Siam Paragon, a moving ‘deal truck’ roaming the city, billboards in dining hotspots, and an extensive digital and social media campaign.” added Panomkorn.
