Grab and Plan B Launch “Cool (Bags) to Care” Project

.

Grab Thailand, in partnership with Plan B Media, has launched the “Cool (Bags) to Care” Project, encouraging the public to donate used insulated bags used for food and beverage deliveries to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital. The donated bags will be repurposed to transport temperature-sensitive medications for patients, helping hospitals reduce procurement costs while extending the lifecycle of packaging to minimize environmental impact.

Panomkorn Jirasatienpong, Director of Marketing, Grab Thailand, said, “Insulated bags have become increasingly popular among today’s food and beverage merchants, both for in-store purchases and delivery orders. Beyond helping maintain product temperature and quality, they also enhance the overall customer experience and strengthen brand perception. However, many of these bags are discarded after a single use despite remaining in good condition and having significant potential for reuse.”

“One practical application is using these insulated bags to carry temperature-sensitive medications for patients. Inspired by this idea, Grab has partnered with Plan B Media to launch the ‘Cool (Bags) to Care’ project, encouraging consumers to donate clean, reusable insulated bags to the hospital. Donations can be dropped off at 10 collection points across Bangkok or sent directly to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital via GrabExpress”.

“This initiative reflects Grab’s commitment to environmental sustainability by promoting packaging reuse and reducing waste, in line with our GrabForGood mission to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”

Tanaporn Teachaviwat, Secretary to the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee, Plan B Media Public Company Limited, said, “At Plan B, we are committed to using our out-of-home media network to raise awareness and bring businesses, communities and the public together to take action and create meaningful, tangible change. The ‘Cool (Bags) to Care’ project is a good example of this. It brings together businesses, urban spaces, transport and healthcare partners, as well as the public, to give existing resources a new purpose. An everyday item that might otherwise be thrown away can be put to good use by hospitals and patients, while also helping to reduce waste”

“For this project, we will promote it across more than 162 out-of-home media locations throughout Bangkok. We are also working with shopping centres, office buildings and venue partners to set up 10 convenient donation points. Our goal is to turn communication into action by making it easy for people to move from seeing the campaign to taking part in a meaningful way.”

Drop off good-condition insulated bags as part of the “Cool (Bags) to Care” project from today until 30 September 2026 at ten collection points across Bangkok: Sathorn Prime Tower, UBC II Building, The PARQ, Plan B Tower, Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, Central Chaengwattana, Central Pinklao and Central Rama9. Alternatively, send insulated bags directly to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital via GrabExpress using the promo code ‘COOLBAG’ to receive 15% off, up to THB 100.
