GrabFood Reports Over THB 500 Million in Spending Through “Thais Help Thais Plus 60/40” Within Two Weeks
.
GrabFood, Thailand’s No.1 food delivery platform, revealed the government’s “Thais Help Thais Plus 60/40” co-payment scheme has played a tangible role in reviving the economy and stimulating spending in the food and beverage sector. This is reflected in GrabFood’s orders from participating merchants, which exceeded THB 500 million within just two weeks after the scheme was extended to food delivery services on June 15.. At the same time, merchant participation increased by 40%, while delivery riders in key provinces saw an 18% increase in average hourly income.
Insights also show that consumers most frequently used the subsidy to order lunch. Som Tum (papaya salad) emerged as the most-ordered dish, while Thai tea remained the most popular beverage. Bangkok recorded the highest number of subsidized food delivery orders, followed by Chiang Mai, Chonburi, Khon Kaen, and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Chantsuda Thananitayaudom, Country Head of Grab Thailand, revealed, “Since the government enabled consumers to use the ‘Thais Help Thais Plus 60/40’ subsidy for food delivery services in mid-June, we have witnessed an overwhelmingly positive response from consumers, food merchants, and delivery riders alike. Within the first two weeks alone, food orders placed through GrabFood under the scheme exceeded THB 500 million, generating a meaningful economic ripple effect across Thailand’s food and beverage sector. These figures clearly demonstrate the scheme’s effectiveness in stimulating consumer spending.”
“Merchant participation in the scheme through GrabFood increased by 40%, compared with the previous ‘Kon La Khrung Plus’ launched late last year. This reflects merchants’ confidence in GrabFood as an important channel that helps generate sales and expand customer reach through comprehensive support, including preferential l commission rates (GP), marketing campaign featuring ‘Abigail’ to boost visibility, and access to merchant loans. At the same time, the scheme has also benefited delivery riders, particularly in the five provinces with the highest subsidy redemption. Riders’ average hourly income increased by 18% compared with normal periods.”
GrabFood also revealed insights from food delivery order placed under the “Thais Help Thais Plus 60/40” scheme during the first two weeks (June 15 – 30, 2026) as follows:
-
