GrabTaxi brings quick, safe and convenient transportation to Baguio City

Virtually hail a cab in the country’s summer capital

With more than 300,000 residents and almost one million tourists visiting every year, commuting around Baguio City has been quite a challenge especially during peak seasons. It has required more time and effort than ever before. To answer these commuter woes, GrabTaxi, the country’s leading taxi-booking mobile app, now offers its service to the country’s summer capital.

Following the success of the app in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao and Iloilo, GrabTaxi now brings fast, safe and convenient transportation to Baguio residents and tourists.

“We are committed to provide convenience to every Filipino commuter wherever they may be. We found a rising need for a convenient and safe transportation option in Baguio City. As business and tourism continue to boom, people find it harder to go from one place to another. GrabTaxi hopes to solve this problem by enabling passengers to hail a cab online and save them time and a lot of stress,” said GrabTaxi Head Poch Ceballos.

The mobile app allows people to virtually hail a cab with just a few taps on their smartphone. Available for free for Android, iOS and Windows phone users, GrabTaxi connects the passengers and the drivers to allow seamless commuting experience.

The passengers just have to type in their place of origin and their destination, and wait for the app to assign a cab for them. When there is already an assigned cab, the passengers will know the location, plate number, estimated time of arrival of the cab, as well as the name and contact number of the driver. These features would allow the passengers to contact the driver for the specifics of the transaction.

Those features, plus the option to share their whereabouts privately or on social media through the ‘Share My Ride’ function, assure the passengers of a safe and convenient commuting experience.

“With the success of the app in other mega cities, GrabTaxi wants to expand its reach to be of service to more Filipino commuters. The company plans to bring the app to more places in the country. GrabTaxi also plans to expand in terms of products and services. For almost a month now, GrabExpress, a delivery service is already in trial period. We are also discussing about the expansion of the GrabCar service in other cities,” said Khriztina Lim, GrabTaxi Country Marketing Head
