Cebu City, Philippines — Cebu’s Sinulog festival, a week-long extravaganza full of bright colors and festive music is the center of the Sto. Niño catholic and cultural celebrations in the Philippines. It is also one of the country’s biggest and most anticipated festivals.
With growing number of tourists coming to Cebu for the Sinulog festival every year, going from place to place has become an unnecessary inconvenience, taking away some of the fun, and leaving them with some not-so-desired memories of the festival. Fighting for that last passenger seat and wasting precious hours in traffic often leaves festival-goers disappointed.
This makes people wonder: is the Sinulog fun really going away? Not with Grab, it isn’t.
All You Need is Grab
All it really takes is to have Grab on your phones. As a proud partner of the festival two years in a row now, Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand transportation and mobile payments platform wants to make sure that Sinulog stays as fun and colorful.
“Cebu is one of Grab’s biggest and most important markets in the country. More than just bringing Cebuanos from point A to B, we want our passengers to get more value with every ride through fun and rewarding moments. Every ride taken with Grab earns them GrabRewards points, which they can use to redeem exciting offers and freebies. “
“We want to let Cebuanos know that there’s so much more to a ride and that the fun can start even before getting to their destinations,” said Raenald de Jesus, Grab Philippines’ Deputy Country Marketing Head. “We have lined-up special promotions and activities during the festival and we hope our passengers will enjoy the celebration,” added De Jesus.
Sinulog Time is Rewards Time
Exciting events and offers are abound during the Sinulog festival, as it rewards existing Grab users.
Cebuanos can use SINULOG, a special promo code that entitles users to an unlimited 50 pesos off their Grab rides from January 16 to 21 to and from following festival destinations: Fuente Osmena, Basilica del Santo Nino, Plaza Independencia, and Cebu City Sports Complex in Abellana.
Festival essentials such as caps, shirts, water bottles and more are up for grabs at the special GrabRewards redemption booth situated at Plaza La Independencia. Using their available GrabRewards points, users are few clicks away from claiming these offers.
Grab has also partnered up with select establishments that are nearby, accessible, and preferred, such as House of Lechon — a well-loved signature Cebuano restaurant that serves some of the best roasted pig in town. Grab users can enjoy 100 pesos off their orders when they dine at House of Lechon. Just check the GrabRewards catalogue, look for House Of Lechon offer and redeem.
“We are very thankful for the support of our Cebuano users over the past years. This year’s Grab Sinulog celebration is our way of saying ‘Thank You’. We are continuously looking for ways to make your Grab rides more rewarding and we hope to celebrate more fun years of Sinulog,” De Jesus added.
Grab continues to be the preferred transportation option of Filipinos, and wants to be visible in major festivals in the Philippines to show that getting from point A to point B can truly be fun and rewarding. With Grab, the fun and the rewards are here to stay.
