Grab, Southeast-Asia’s leading superapp, today announced the launch of  GrabFood in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, after a successful four month ‘beta’ testing in the capital city. GrabFood is Southeast Asia’s leading food delivery service that connects consumers to a wide variety of food and drink options, delivered on-demand to consumers’ doors.

The GrabFood service is housed within the main Grab app, offering consumers one-stop convenience to access multiple everyday services in a single app. Starting from today, Grab users can order food delivery from over 400 local and international food and beverage brands, with many more to come in the near future.

“We saw very encouraging results from our beta test. This gives us the confidence to officially launch GrabFood in Phnom Penh, and we will be working hard to scale the service so more consumers can enjoy it,” said Grab Cambodia Country Manager Corentin Rouxel.

At the launch event on Sunday, July 31st at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, Grab also unveiled its new brand ambassador, Sopheak Kosama, a local celebrity and influencer who has amassed over one million followers on various social media platforms.

“I’m excited to be working closely with Grab on the launch of their new food delivery service,” said Miss Sopheak Kosama. “Grab already has an impressive track record with its ride-hailing service here in Cambodia, so I’m confident that GrabFood will also make a huge impact and enjoy the same amount of success.”

GrabFood is currently available in Phnom Penh’s Central Business District CBD as well as in Chbar Ampov and Sen Sok. The service will be rolled out to the rest of Phnom Penh by the end of the year.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, consumers can enjoy up to 50% off when they order from GrabFood, and a flat fee of just 100 riels for deliveries regardless of the distance between the restaurant/cafe and the user’s location.

“We are heartened that the launch of GrabFood also benefits our delivery-partners. Our delivery-partners doubled their weekly earnings on average during the beta testing period,” added Grab Cambodia Country Manager Corentin Rouxel.

“The service also provides more online sales opportunities to local food businesses. We are delighted to report that during the beta testing Khmer cuisine topped the popularity rankings followed by fast food and then coffee. This shows that we really are a company that serves Cambodia and Khmer tastes”, Grab Cambodia Country Manager Corentin Rouxel continued.

The new GrabFood service is available on the Grab app, which can be downloaded from  http://grb.to/GrabApp on Google Play or App Store.
