GrabFood aims to serve consumers by providing safe, efficient, and reliable food delivery services across Singapore while maintaining a pleasant delivery experience for our delivery partners. However, problems arise when Delivery Partners <\/span>repeatedly pick and choose (i.e. \u2018cherry-pick\u2019), or cancel, the jobs assigned to them,<\/b> resulting in poor experiences for other Delivery-Partners and eaters.\u00a0<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on requests from our high rated delivery-partners, we will be introducing the <\/span>Driver Timeout <\/b>feature from <\/span>8 July 2019<\/b>.<\/b> This will prevent delivery-partners, who consistently ignore or cancel bookings, from receiving any jobs <\/span>temporarily.<\/b><\/p>\n

Not accepting order requests causes delays and it does affect the experience for other delivery-partners. However, we understand that sometimes, due to certain circumstances, you can\u2019t accept every order request or you may want to take a break. If you are not ready to accept jobs, please toggle off the \u2018unavailable for jobs\u2019 button.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How it works\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

If you ignore <\/span>a job<\/b><\/span> after (after 45secs from receiving an order or by closing an order upon receiving it), a temporary lock screen will appear on your driver app to stop jobs from being allocated to you temporarily:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whenever you are ready to accept jobs, tap on the <\/span>Unlock<\/b> icon to continue receiving jobs normally.<\/span><\/p>\n

However<\/b>, if you ignore or cancel multiple jobs consecutively<\/u>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>, you may be set as “Unavailable”, and may be temporarily prevented from receiving new jobs. If that happens, the timer on your Grab Driver app will show for how long you\u2019ll remain unavailable.<\/p>\n

You will <\/span>not<\/b> be able to receive any job orders while the timer is still running.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the timer runs out, you will be informed that jobs are no longer paused. Tap on the <\/span>\u2018Unlock\u2019<\/b> icon to continue receiving jobs. Alternatively, you may tap on <\/span>\u2018Stay Unavailable\u2019 <\/b>to remain unavailable.<\/span><\/p>\n

How will this benefit responsible Driver-Partners?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Delivery partners who \u2018cherry-pick\u2019, or who are not ready to accept jobs, will be temporarily blocked from receiving jobs. This will provide greater job potential for other Delivery Partners, especially those who maintain <\/span>high Acceptance Rates<\/b> and <\/span>low Cancellation Rates<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
