Grab\u2019s driver- and merchant partners earned a record US$15.3 billion on the platform in 2025\u2014a 19% increase from the previous year. This growth in collective earnings, highlighted in our latest environmental, social, and governance (ESG) report<\/a>, reflects the rising number of partners building and sustaining their livelihoods with us. As a two-wheeler driver-partner, \u0110\u1eadu H\u1ea3i Duy\u00ean earns an income from providing multiple services through Grab. He transports commuters on GrabBike, delivers food, groceries, and parcels. The result is not just higher earnings, but more stable earnings. Over time, that stability changed everything. Expanding access to financing<\/b><\/h5>

Key to our commitment is a human-centric approach to product innovation. We ensure complex technologies become accessible to more people and serve those who need a bridge into the formal economy.<\/span><\/p>

For example, our platform allows us to extend credit to driver-partners who traditionally struggle to access bank loans due to a lack of formal employment or credit history. By leveraging alternative data, we are able to offer short-term loans that are seamlessly repaid through the app.<\/span><\/p>

Today, one in three active driver-partners has taken a loan through Grab. Notably, 68% of these borrowers accessed formal credit for the first time. Beyond immediate funding, this helps partners build a financial track record\u2014opening the door to future stability and sustained growth.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

One reason for the success of our financing products is that they feel intuitive. For instance, three out of four driver-partners who accessed a loan through GrabFin cited automatic wallet deductions as the primary reason for choosing Grab. By automating the repayment process through their daily earnings, partners can focus on their work rather than worrying about manual bill payments.<\/p>

Technology as an enabler<\/span><\/h5>

As artificial intelligence (AI) transforms the economy, one of our goals has been to make these tools accessible and useful to first-time digital entrepreneurs, not just large enterprises.<\/p>

In 2025, we onboarded another 856,000 micro, small, and medium businesses onto the Grab platform. That year, we also launched the Grab Merchant AI Assistant, a context-aware chatbot accessible through the GrabMerchant app. It offers easy, step-by-step guidance in natural language, on everything from marketing campaigns to menu optimisation.<\/p>

Already used by one in four MSME partners, this tool drove an impressive average 15% uplift in sales in 2025. The right technology empowers even the smallest business.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Together with her daughter-turned-partner Dien, Mylene Estrella transformed her grandmother\u2019s neighbourhood bakeshop into a premium gifting concept: Mylene\u2019s Ensaymada and Banana Cake. Scaling the business required a digital leap. By partnering with Grab, they expanded beyond their local storefront to reach customers across Manila. Equal access to safe and sustainable income opportunities<\/h5>

Crucially, our platform is helping open opportunities for those who face disproportionate barriers to work. Through tailored initiatives, we now have 189,000 women driver-partners and persons with disabilities (PWD) driver-partners earning through Grab, a 40% increase from last year.<\/span><\/p>

Some successful initiatives are technology-driven. For instance, women GrabCar passengers in Thailand and Malaysia can now choose to be picked up by women drivers, This is in addition to the Women Passengers Preferred toggle which allows women driver-partners to opt for matching with more women passengers through the app. This simple feature provides a feeling of safety for women.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Other measures are built on the power of human connections and community, such as our specialised onboarding and training for women and PWD partners, referral programmes, and partnerships with non-profit organisations.<\/p>

Together, efforts to expand the inclusion of women\u2014an underrepresented segment in driver-partner roles\u2014are creating meaningful economic impact. Among women driver-partners surveyed as part of Grab\u2019s Women Driver Programme, 22% had no active form of income prior to joining, a rate 2.4 times higher than men. Across Southeast Asia, women driver-partners now contribute approximately US$0.8 billion in economic output through the Grab platform.<\/p>

When Saidah Anwar (centre) joined Grab in 2016 as a single mother of three, women driver-partners were rare in her community in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia. What began as her own journey towards financial independence soon became something bigger. Saidah started encouraging other women, particularly single mothers, to consider joining Grab. Protecting the places we call home<\/h5>

As we expand, we are also accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future. Currently, 9% of all distance traveled on our platform is via low-emission modes. This momentum is most evident in markets like Thailand, where EV adoption on Grab is seven times the national average.<\/span><\/p>

By scaling EV-only verticals to seven markets, we are encouraging passengers to choose greener transport while helping partners lower operating costs and build resilience against rising fuel prices.<\/span><\/p>

These are vital steps towards greener mobility at scale in a region with many challenges, including fragmented charging infrastructure, a lack of standardised battery systems, and complex regulations. Grab is working with stakeholders in the government and private sectors to overcome these systemic hurdles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
