In Malaysia, improved in-car communication materials have facilitated better interactions between passengers and deaf driver-partners.<\/p><h5>Building an ecosystem for all<\/h5><p>This year\u2019s report dives into the impact of Grab\u2019s ecosystem on users, partners, and the wider community. Over 99 per cent of driver-partners also met or exceeded the local hourly minimum wage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ca3226d elementor-widget elementor-widget-counter\" data-id=\"ca3226d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"counter.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-counter\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-counter-number-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-counter-number-prefix\">$<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-counter-number\" data-duration=\"2000\" data-to-value=\"12.8\" data-from-value=\"0\" data-delimiter=\",\">0<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-counter-number-suffix\"> billion<\/span>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-counter-title\">earned by driver- and merchant-partners in 2024<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ab5b60e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ab5b60e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Meanwhile, we continue to support the growth of micro, small and medium businesses (MSMEs). Some 600,000 of such businesses were onboarded in 2024. In fact, MSMEs contribute about 67 per cent of the gross merchandise value for GrabFood and GrabMart.<\/p><p>This was in part possible because of the many tech and product levers we pull on our end to drive consumer demand and boost driver and merchant productivity. This includes budget-friendly options such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/sg\/inside-grab\/stories\/how-the-saver-option-for-food-deliveries-works\/\">Saver rides and deliveries<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p><p>On the other hand, consumers who are willing to fork out a little more for added convenience can opt for services such as premium rides and priority deliveries.\u00a0<\/p><p>This year, we also rolled out AI-powered solutions such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/sg\/inside-grab\/stories\/grabrideguide-our-new-ai-tool-that-predicts-high-demand-areas\/\">ride guidance<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/sg\/inside-grab\/stories\/grabx-ai-merchant-assistant\/\">AI Merchant Assistant<\/a>, designed to help our partners operate more efficiently and intelligently.<\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><h5><strong>Enabling transition to low-emission transport\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5><\/li><\/ul><p>The shift of our driver-partners to low or zero emission transportation modes is key to our strategy to reduce emissions as we aim for carbon neutrality by 2040.<\/p><p>Grab currently operates the largest EV ride-hailing fleet in Indonesia and Thailand, with over 10,000 EVs in each market. We are working with strategic partners to provide our driver-partners <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/sg\/inside-grab\/stories\/inclusive-ev-ecosystem-transport-esg-carbon-emissions\/\">better access to electric vehicles (EVs)<\/a> through rental and financing options. Additionally, 7 per cent of all distances travelled were via low or zero emission modes of transport\u2014such as electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, cyclists, and walkers\u2014up from 6.3 per cent the previous year. Overall, these transportation modes contributed to a reduction of approximately 128,000 tCO2e last year.<\/p><ul><li><h5>Empowering consumer action for beyond value chain impact<\/h5><\/li><\/ul><p>We\u2019ve also actively used our platform and technology to educate consumers about climate change and empower them to take action.\u00a0<\/p><p>Since 2021, we have introduced a Green Programme toggle, allowing consumers to contribute a fractional cost towards carbon credits based on the emissions from their rides or deliveries. By the end of 2024, the number of rides utilising AudioProtect grew by 2.4 times compared to January 2024.
